There's only so much Game Freak can do with Grass-type Pokémon, really. You take a plant, personify it with an animal or human-like form, and boom, there's a new Pokémon. The formula is mostly kept from getting stale, however, thanks to Game Freak choosing some odd things to make into plants. Shiftry is based on the Japanese Tengu based entirely on the fact that Tengu carried leafy fans. Sun & Moon brought Bounsweet, Steenee, and Tsareena – a cute little berry that turns into a haughty queen.

Whatever your opinions on human-looking Pokémon, you'll have to admit Tsareena is a good idea once you learn its inspiration. It's based on the mangosteen fruit. The mangosteen is known as the "Queen of Fruit." So you can see where the idea to turn Tsareena into royalty comes from. As for why she likes stomping things... well... some people are into a dominant lady. If you want to add this queen to your Sword & Shield Pokédex, read on!

Where To Find Bounsweet In Sword & Shield

Before you can get the queen on your side, you've got to find the basic form: a cute little berry-looking thing called Bounsweet. Bounsweet can be found at the Wild Area's Dappled Grove, East Lake Axewell, Rolling Fields, Stony Wilderness, Watchtower Ruins, West Lake Axewell. The Stony Wilderness offers the best odds of finding Bounsweet walking around.

Bounsweet can also be found through Max Raid Battles at Dappled Grove and Giant's Mirror.

How To Evolve Bounsweet Into Steenee & Tsareena

Bounsweet evolves into Steenee at level 18. Steenee will evolve into Tsareena once it knows the Stomp move and levels up. It learns Stomp at level 28, meaning you can evolve it as soon as level 29.

Tsareena can also be found wild at a high-level wandering Pokémon at Stony Wilderness. It can also be encountered in Max Raids at Dappled Grove and Giant's Mirror.

What Tsareena Does In Battle

Tsareena has a unique Ability called Queenly Majesty. It prevents opponents from using attacks that have priority like Quick Attack. This can make Tsareena a good partner in double battles as it can protect its ally. It also just defends Tsareena herself in 1v1 situations.

With its Grass typing, Tsareena makes a decent Rapid Spin user. A lot of Stealth Rock users tend to have a type that's weak to Grass, so Tsareena being able to both counter the Stealth Rocks and the Pokémon itself is a boon. She can also learn Knock Off to take away an opponent's items and really mess with their plans. That said, Tsareena is slow and has middling defenses, so you shouldn't expect her to stick around long to mess with opponents. If the opponent throws out a Fire or Flying type, get Tsareena out of there.

Attack is where Tsareena excels. To take advantage of this, use her special move Trop Kick, or a high-power Grass-type move like Power Whip. Physical attacks are better for this kick-happy Pokémon, so skip the Solar Beam or Razor Leaf. Do this, and you will see how Tsareena is a true fierce queen.
