Pokémon Sword & Shield’s Isle of Armor DLC opened the borders of Galar just a little. Now a new batch of Pokémon, around 100, have permission to enter Generation VIII. Many are walking around the new and improved Wild Area, but there are also some hidden gems. In TheGamer’s Pokédex guide series, we chronicle all the Pokémon and where to find them.
Sandile is part of the Gen V renaissance of Dark-type Pokémon. When it evolves into Krookodile, it joins the likes of Bisharp, Zoroark, and Hydreigon in a batch of sinister, powerful Pokémon. But it separates itself from the pack due to its Ground typing. This allows it to hit hard with Earthquake in addition to its Dark-type moves. If the idea of a savage sand crocodile appeals to you, then you want to catch this Pokémon.
Where To Find Sandile
To catch Sandile, you need to head to the Isle of Armor. As you'd probably expect, Sandile will spawn in the Potbottom Desert. Sandile walk around there in pretty big numbers in multiple types of weather. You can sometimes even find its evolved forms spawning in the desert as well.
How To Evolve Sandile Into Krookodile
Sandile evolves into Krokorok at level 29. Krokorok evolves into Krookodile at level 40.
Krookodile Max Raid Battles can also be found in the Soothing Wetlands, Challenge Beach, Challenge Road, Courageous Cavern, Potbottom Desert, Workout Sea, Stepping-Stone Sea, and Honeycalm Sea.
What Krookodile Does In Battle
Krookodile has a very high Attack stat and decent Speed. It also makes use of the Intimidate Ability to lower an opponent's Attack. This makes it great for going 'mono-a-'mono with other Pokémon that have high Attack (as long as they're not Fighting-types). Give Krookodile Earthquake for big damage. For a Dark-type move, give it Knock-off or Crunch.
Outside of those essential moves, you have a few options for covering various situations. Stone Edge is strong against Flying-types, and Fire Fang can beat Grass and Ice-types. You could also go with more tricky moves like Taunt and Stealth Rock disrupt opponents' plans.
