New footage of Pokémon Sword & Shield, which was released during Gamescom 2019, is giving us a glimpse at one of the towns in the Galar region.

Shigeru Ohmori, the director of Pokémon Sword & Shield, presented the video showing off one of the early towns in the Galar region. The map of the Galar region was revealed a while back and appears to be an upside-down version of the map of the United Kingdom, with a Scotland-like region in the south and a London-like city in the north. The location shown in the trailer appears to be the player's hometown.

The video shows one of the early towns from the Galar region. The town is home to Professor Magnolia, who is researching the Dynamax phenomenon. It's likely that Professor Magnolia will be the person who gives players their starter Pokémon, as that has been a trend with Pokémon professors throughout the series. Professor Magnolia is clearly an important lady since Leon, the Champion of the Galar region, can be seen with her in the video.

It had previously been established that players could travel between cities using the Corviknight Flying Taxi service. However, it will also be possible for players to use trains to commute to different locations.

It has been confirmed that clothing stores will be returning in Pokémon Sword & Shield. The pre-order bonuses for the game have already confirmed that players will be able to change the main character's outfits and we now know that new clothes can be purchased in boutiques.

It's clear that a lot of work has gone into the visuals of Pokémon Sword & Shield, as the town shown in the trailer looks gorgeous, with people and Pokémon existing together in a beautiful cartoon world. The environment of the Galar region is the most impressive of any Pokémon game to date and it's clear that a lot of thought went into the aesthetic of the game.

Pokémon Sword & Shield are due to be released for the Nintendo Switch on November 15, 2019.
