It seems that one of the steps towards becoming a Pokémon Master is stocking up on Red Bull, as a twenty-four-hour Pokémon livestream is happening next week that will be broadcast from within the Glimwood Tangle forest in the Galar region of Pokémon Sword & Shield

Pokémon Sword & Shield have been slowly revealing new types of Pokémon, with the most recent involving a Fighting-type evolution of Farfetch'd, called Sirfetch'd. It seems that Game Freak want to avoid making the same mistake that it did with Pokémon Sun & Moon by not revealing everything beforehand and leaving some surprises for the player to discover for themselves, which means that there are still a lot of unanswered questions about the games.

It seems that more Pokémon will be revealed soon, but only to those who are willing to endure a lengthy livestream. The latest post on the official Pokémon Twitter page is informing fans that Sonia from Pokémon Sword & Shield is setting up a camera within the Glimwood Tangle forest in the Galar region and will be broadcasting the footage next week.

The official Pokémon website clarified the information in the Twitter message. It seems that there will be a twenty-four-hour livestream starting on October 4 at 6:00 am PDT, which will show footage from Pokémon Sword & Shield.

It's strange for Game Freak to want to promote Pokémon Sword & Shield with a twenty-four-hour long livestream. Will the footage just be images from a forest with Pokémon wandering around? How much new content will appear in the livestream? Are poor video game journalists going to have to take shifts in order to make sure that a reveal for the Galarian evolution of Meowth is covered?

Pokémon Sword & Shield represents a huge leap forward for the series and it seems that Game Freak is trying out new ways of revealing content for the games, such as the glitched-out promo for Sirfetch'd. A twenty-four-hour livestream is certainly something new for the series and repeatedly hitting the screenshot key during it might be the closest thing we ever get to a Pokémon Snap 2.

Pokémon Sword & Shield will be released for the Nintendo Switch on November 15, 2019.
