The 24-hour livestream kicked off in the Galar Region today, enthralling viewers with exciting footage of the Pokémon players can expect to see in Pokémon Sword & ShieldSet in the Glimwood Forest, expectant viewers can get a first look at some of the new region's Pokémon, which include translucent mushrooms and an array of vegetation such as ferns and moss-covered trees. Odd design choices, but probably not the weirdest Pokémon Gamefreak has ever designed.

Observant viewers, however, have probably noticed a couple of odd things during the stream (aside from the strange new Pokémon designs), including hints for Pokémon Gun

Crazy, right? But there's ample, solidified proof that a third Galar-based game is in the works.

Three Is A Magic Number

All good things come in three, even subtle coincidences that probably have nothing to do with each other. In the stream, there are three groups of fully-visible yellow mushrooms. Out of the four total groups, three of them are bunched together in groups of three.

If these were the only hints, it may have been enough to brush them aside as pure coincidence. But there are more connections to the sacred number that practically scream "POKÉMON GUN CONFIRMED." Looming behind these glowing mushrooms are moss-covered trees. How many trees exactly? Three! The holy grail of the numeric order.

These closely tied coincidences can't be random and were deliberately designed so by Gamefreak to inform their audience of a future release, such as a third game that will allow them to return to Galar if they so choose.

 There's Evidence In The Franchise

Historically, the number three has been crucial to the Pokémon franchise. Ever since Generation One, players were given three options to choose from as their starter Pokémon. In the core games, Pokémon has never diverged from this formula. It's always been one grass starter, one fire starter, and a water starter. Plus, these creatures are part of a three-evolution stage line, which is the maximum amount of evolutionary stages a Pokémon can have.

Since Generation Two, core games have been released in collections of three, with twin games initially released before a third game was. This practice ended with Generation Five. What generation are we currently in? Generation Eight. What's eight minus five? That's right, it's three!

And what generation did Generation Two precede? Generation Three. Mind-blowing stuff.

In Conclusion, Pokémon Gun Is Real

Considering the significance of the number three in Pokémon, it's been essentially confirmed that Pokémon Gun will follow Sword & Shield. There's no other way to explain these signs, they're too jarring to be mere coincidences.
