A new Pokémon that is set to debut in Pokémon Sword & Shield is being teased on the official website for the games, but it is purposely censoring information about the creature with a glitch.

Pokémon Sword & Shield are set to receive an unspecified number of new Pokémon, as well as new Galarian forms for established Pokémon from the series. The fact that the Galar region is based on the UK has greatly influenced the new Pokémon and the new forms, with a haunted teapot and a Weezing with a top hat/chimney motif currently inhabiting the region.

The official website for Pokémon Sword & Shield now has a page for a new Pokémon that obscures almost all of the information (including the image of the Pokémon) with glitch-filled text and images. The only concrete information about the Pokémon is that it's Fighting-type, has the Steadfast Ability, and that it can only attain its form from surviving many battles.

It's currently speculated that the mystery Pokémon is Sirfetch'd - the Galarian evolution of Farfetch'd. There was a leak concerning Pokémon Sword & Shield on 4chan that posted a lot of legitimate information and included a reference to a Pokémon called Sirfetch'd. The long green image at the top of the picture could easily be a blurred out version of the leek wielded by Farfetch'd in the current games. The same 4chan leak also claimed that Meowth would be receiving a Galarian form.

The leaked early build of Pokémon Gold & Silver revealed that Farfetch'd was planned to have an evolution back in '97, which was called Madame and wielded a sword-like leek in battle. The Madame design never appeared in the Johto region, but it's possible that it has been reborn in the Galar region in the form of a noble evolution of Farfetch'd. Fans have waited a long time for Farfetch'd to be a viable Pokémon in battle and that time might soon be upon us.

Pokémon Sword & Shield will be released for the Nintendo Switch on November 15, 2019.
