Pokémon is teeming with all sorts of Pokémon including water-types, fire-types, electric-types, psychic-types, rock-types, grass-water, flying-types, and dark-types, just to name a few. While some of these Pokémon are pretty huge, there's no dearth of smaller versions of these Pokémon. The Dark Type Pokémon is one of the eighteen Pokémon types. They were introduced in Generation II along with the Steel type.

Dark Pokémon are a great choice when you are combating Psychic or Ghost-types. While they are usually small in stature, some Dark-type Pokémon are huge enough to throw their opponent into a panic.

10 Shortest: Inkay (1’04”/0.4m)

Inkay

Introduced in Generation VI, Inkay is a 1’04” (0.4m) tall, dual-type Dark/Psychic Pokémon. This blue squid-like Pokémon's inner body is pink in color and has six yellow circular lights with four placed in the front, and two at the back. There blue-tinted tentacles attached to its body along with two translucent tentacles connected to its mantle.

Its body is round and has a pink beak that serves as a mouth, while its head houses big black eyes. Thanks to its outward appearance, Inkay is often mistaken for a Water-type Pokémon. Opponents that look at the lights on its body get distracted and lose their will to fight, allowing it to escape.

A black-hued, bipedal creature, Guzzlord sports bioluminescent blue and yellow markings. Guzzlord is taller than a Moose and is measured at 18′01″ (5.5 m).

Its round stomach houses a huge mouth teeming with sharp teeth and a pair of tongues protruding from it, each having a set of jaws and teeth. This dual-type Dark/Dragon Pokémon is alternatively known as the black Ultra Beast. This Pokémon doesn't undergo an evolution, apparently happy to remain its frightening self.

8 Shortest: Impidimp (1'04") 0.4 m

Standing in at 1'04" inches 0.4m tall, Impidimp is a dual-type Dark/Fairy Pokémon that has a big head with a purple face mask on it. The head also houses its large eyes that have small pupils. You'd normally see the Impidimp sticking its purple tongue out. It has a small body, compared to its large head and two strong legs.

Furthermore, Impidimp's hands have three fingers each but its feet have no digits. The back of its body has a bunch of hairs that look like bat wings. Strangely, Impidimp and all of its evolved forms are male.

7 Tallest: Yveltal (19’”/5.8m)

Yveltal

Introduced in Generation 6, Yveltal is touted as the Destruction Pokémon. While an adult male giraffe measures between 4.6 m and 5.5 m (15 feet - 18 feet), Yveltal stands at 5.79m, which converts to 19 feet tall. In other words, this red monster would be about the same height as the world's tallest animal, the giraffe.

Weighing in at 203.0 kg (447.5 lbs), this legendary Pokémon is exclusive to Pokémon Y and its abilities include Dark Aura. Yveltal boasts a myriad of lethal attacks such as Life Orb but it uses Dark Pulse as its primary attack. Its Special Attack boosting style makes it formidable enough to 2HKO (2 Hit Knock Out) opponents. Moreover, it is a highly effective wall breaker that leaves other teams with no choice but to either have a Dark-resistant Pokémon or a wall strong enough to withstand the onslaught.

6 Shortest: Alolan Meowth (1'04") 0.4 m

Alolan Meowth

Meowth has a reputation for collecting everything that shines. When in a good mood, it is likely to give its trainer a brief glimpse of its treasures. Fans of Pokémon Sun/Moon are no stranger to this light-gray hued cat, which is alternatively known as Alolan Meowth.

This Scratch Cat Pokémon 1'04" (0.4 meters) takes full advantage of its minuscule height during combat. When leveled up with high friendship, Meowth evolves into Alolan Persian.

5 Tallest: Mega Gyrados ( 21'04"/ 6.5 m)

Mega Gyrados

Despite its humble beginning as a Magikarp, this Pokémon can prove to be a great companion. Its burgeoning progress starts as soon as it evolves into Gyarados, which already boasts an imposing size. It tends to gain a lot more strength after it evolves into Mega Gyarados.

Standing at 21'04" (6.5m), this massive Pokémon holds onto the frenzied nature of its predecessor Gyarados, making it an intimidating challenger. Mega Gyarados features an impressive crest, coupled with a yellow sail on its blue-tinted body.

The aggressive nature of both Mega Gyarados and Gyarados is due to the way the Magikarp's brain cells restructure at the time of its evolution.

4 Shortest: Alolan Rattata (1'00")

Rattata's new Alolan form was revealed in Pokémon Sun/Moon. The Alolan Rattata measures only 1' 00," which means it is as small as a regular rat. This Dark-type rat Pokémon evolves into Alolan Raticate at nighttime after reaching level 20.

While it looks similar to a regular rat and tends to scavenge for food the entire day, Alolan Rattata does not eat spoiled food. It is not too picky about where it makes its nest but it is cautious even while it is asleep.

3 Tallest: Gigantamax Single-Strike Urshifu (95'02”/ 29.0m)

Gigantamax Urshifu Single Strike Style

Gigantamax Urshifu Single Strike Style is a Wushu Pokémon and it is a Fighting/Dark-type. Standing in at 95'02”/29.0m tall, it is alternatively identified as "the embodiment of rage." Some people claim that the Pokémon's frightening expression and shout will deliver the world from malevolence.

This red-tinted fighting Pokémon releases energy from its fists in the form of shock waves that can damage a Dynamax Pokémon with just a single hit. Gigantamax Urshifu Single Strike Style boasts an impressive array of powerful attacks including Max Knuckle, Max Ooze, and G-Max One Blow.

2 Shortest: Morpeko 0.3 m (1′00″)

Morpeko is a 0.3 m (1′00″) inches tall, dual-type Electric/Dark Pokémon that made its debut in Generation VIII. This adorable rodent Pokémon hails from the Galar region and has two modes dubbed the full belly mode and hangry mode.

When in the "full belly mode," Morpeko is yellow, brown, and black-tinted, but when it switches to "hangry mode," it sports a black, purple, and red color pattern. This change in the color scheme can be attributed to its ability called Hunger Switch, which transforms its signature move, Aura Wheel, from electric to dark-type. It also carries electrically roasted seeds which the Pokémon keeps on eating but never gets satisfied from.

Gigantamax Grimmsnarl

Standing in at 105'00"/ 32m tall, Gigantamax Grimmsnarl is a dual-type Pokemon Dark/Fairy. Gigantamax Grimmsnarl is larger as compared to its pre-evolutions.

Gigantamax Grimmsnarl made its first appearance in a vision as a silhouette in PASS06. As a result of Gigantamax energy, more hair has sprouted all over its body, and a significant amount of added strength. This Pokémon transforms the hair on its leg to deliver deadly drill kicks that are powerful enough to bore massive holes in Galar's terrain.
