Team Go Rocket has once again invaded the otherwise peaceful world of Pokemon Go - we were all so very happy to be relaxing and catching some regional Pokemon, and now this has to happen. There are a bunch of brand new Pokemon available as Shadow forms, you can get a chance to catch a rare Ho-Oh with Earthquake (not bad for a flying type), and there are loads of different Pokemon for you to find in the wild and from Strange Eggs, in addition to plenty of Team Go Rocket Grunt fights to participate in.
This Team Go Rocket event won’t last long, so read through everything you need to know here, and then log into Pokemon Go and get out there to take down those dastardly ne’er-do-wells. Oh, and if you are actually getting out there, do make sure to wrap up warm and wear a face mask. There’s a pandemic going on, in case you weren’t aware. How Long Is The Team Go Rocket Event Available For?
The Team Go Rocket Celebration event starts today, February 2, and wraps up on February 7, meaning you have less than a week from right now to get this event all solved and catch that elusive Ho-Oh at the end.
What New Shadow Pokemon Are There To Meet?
The Team Go Rocket Grunts are all packing different Pokemon teams for this event, and as a result, they’re also running around with different Pokemon that you can snag after the battle. The following Pokemon’s Shadow forms are brand new, and they will be joined by others.

Catching A Ho-Oh With Earthquake
If you manage to complete the Timed Research task, titled Team Go Rocket Celebration, during the event then you will be gifted with an encounter with Ho-Oh. On top of the (very unlikely) chance of it being Shiny, it will also be able to learn Earthquake, a very powerful Ground-type move, making this Ho-Oh very unique indeed.
