Sensor Tower just released their mobile MOBA report and it focuses on the explosive growth of Pokemon Unite, the newest MOBA to hit mobile. Although the publication didn't provide us with sales figures, we do know how many people have downloaded Pokemon Unite, and it's a lot.

Over 30 million people have downloaded Pokemon Unite on mobile alone. This figure doesn't include the number of downloads on console, which sat at 9 million as of September 16. It took just two days for Pokemon Unite to reach 15 million downloads on mobile, and just seven days to more than double that amount. Compare that to 9 million on Switch after several months, and you can see why so many game publishers are moving into mobile games.

Pokemon Unite might be the game to finally unseat the current mobile MOBA champion, Honor of Kings. Also made by Tencent's Timi Studio, Honor of Kings has made $2.9 billion in revenue since Sept 2020, and lifetime revenue has now surpassed $10 billion. Of the entire MOBA mobile market, Honor of Kings accounts for the vast majority of it.

But with Pokemon's global recognition, Honor of Kings might soon be unseated as the global MOBA leader.

Elsewhere in the mobile market, Genshin Impact has reached $2 billion in spending since the game was released on mobile last year. That's still not as much as Honor of Kings, but it's more than Pokemon Go's $1.4 billion.

Season 2 has arrived in Pokemon Unite featuring a ton of new cosmetics, such as a spacesuit for Gengar that makes 'em look a little sus. The new season's pad battle pass is available for 490 Aeos gems, while the Premium Pass Plus will give you the first 10 levels for free at the price of 840 Aeos gems.
