The arrival of Decidueye has been all-but-confirmed via a not-so cryptic tweet posted on Pokemon Unite's official account.

Pokemon Unite season two kicked off this week, and it felt a little anti-climactic. A lot of players were expecting the arrival of a new Pokemon, but that didn't happen. Just a brand new battle pass and some new holowear, most notably Crustle's Shrine Style that allows you to pop a majestic palace on your Crustle's shell.

While the start of season two might not have ushered in the arrival of a new Pokemon, you won't have long to wait. Just one day into Unite season two, the game's devs finally confirmed (well, sort of) Decidueye will soon be added to the roster. A screenshot of arrows flying through the air accompanied by Decidueye's signature green glow was posted on Unite's Twitter.

While Decidueye's Unite debut still hasn't technically been confirmed, it has been on the cards for a while. Dataminers found mention of the Pokemon in Unite's files, and then TiMi Studios teased its addition when it announced Greedent. While Greedent was front and center in Unite's Halloween artwork, there was a pumpkin with a Rowlett carved into it in the background that did not go unnoticed.

Speaking of Greedent, a lot of Unite players aren't all that pleased with the newest addition to the roster. Many are calling for Greedent to be nerfed and fast, claiming the defender to be extremely OP. Greedent is powerful, fast, uses its Belch to inflict massive amounts of damage, and can produce berries it uses to heal itself. All of that suggests those calling for a Greedent nerf might have a point.

While about half the comments under the tweet above are about Greedent, the other half are from players arguing a different Pokemon should be added to Unite next in place of Decidueye. It seems the point of Decidueye's arrival is to further promote Pokemon Legends: Arceus, in which Rowlett will be one of the starters. Considering the timing of the tease, it might have made more sense to add a Pokemon synonymous with Diamond and Pearl instead.
