Look at that face! How could this adorable squirrel Pokemon possibly have done anything wrong? Well, I guarantee you that you'll see Greedent in a different light when you see it single-handedly take down a Zapdos in Pokemon Unite.
That's right, for whatever reason, Greedent has a ridiculously powerful Unite move. In a clip shared on the Pokemon Unite subreddit, the defender is actually able to get Zapdos down to low health completely on its own, barely taking any damage itself. Other players are sharing similar stories of Greedent able to withstand too much damage and dish out even more, with some saying it needs nerfing.
The main issue with Greedent is its Unite move, which resets the cooldown for other moves. As seen in the videos shared by players, it allows the move belch to be spammed well over ten times in just a few seconds. This can make it next to impossible for enemies to fight back, forcing them to retreat.
Of course, this can make fighting Zapdos solo a breeze too, which can't really be said for any other Pokemon. In the clip above, the Greedent player almost takes the legendary bird down, but does have the kill stolen right at the very end. In any case, it proves that it is possible, and didn't even impact Greedent's HP much at all.
It's unlikely that developer Timi Studio Group intended for the moves to be spammed to this degree, so Greedent will probably be nerfed as fans are calling for. In other words: have your fun while you can.
A Pokemon Unite newcomer being completely overpowered is almost customary at this point. Before Greedent joined the gang, both Sylveon and Blastoise faced similar accusations from the playerbase, with the former even receiving a nerf just two days after joining the roster. On the other hand, Blastoise finally had some moves toned down this week, after numerous complaints from players.
