Mr Mime may be a support Pokemon, but it turns out they can be a hell of a defender too. Pokemon Unite players have discovered a clever and infuriating (depending on which side you're on) way to block goals with the Pokemon's barrier ability, and it may be more powerful than the developers intended.

In a clip shared to r/PokemonUnite, user jsalt213 shows how a barrier can be used to push an opponent off your goal. Despite the goal already being fully charged, and the scoring animation already carried out, the act of being pushed off the goal meant no points were scored - making this a pretty good exploit if you're defending.

Typically when defending your base, you have until the goal is fully charged to block the opponent from scoring. The bigger the goal, the longer it takes to charge. However, once it is fully charged, it doesn't matter if you hit them during the scoring animation - they'll still score and win those points for their team.

That's what makes this newly-discovered method unique. In the clip, Cramorant's scoring animation is towards the end, yet the points are not awarded. This appears to be because Mr Mime's barrier pushed them off the goal mid-animation, confusing the game since they were technically trying to score a goal where there is no goal. Considering this can block goals when they're already fully charged, it's very likely that this is not an intended feature. So to the Mr Mime mains among you, make the most of this exploit while you can. Infuriate the other team to your heart's content.

Speaking of infuriating Pokemon Unite players, fans also discovered another strategy that is bound to cause some rage quits - although this time it's actually an intended feature. Players are now hiding out in the long grass near Zapdos, and waiting for the other team to almost defeat it. When it is on low health, they're springing out of the grass and then stealing the kill for themselves. It's a good strat to learn, since it doesn't actually require coordinating with your own team.
