This has been a good week for Pokemon Unite updates. It seems that the increased playerbase since the game’s mobile launch has done it a whole lot of good, with lots of developer support in the works. Eagle-eyed fans also found clues that more big updates are on the way, so it seems that Timi Studio Group is pretty hard at work right now.Related: I'm A Master Rank Pokemon Unite Player - Here's What You're Doing Wrongfirefighter blastoise pokemon unite

Blastoise Is A Firefighter, With Cool Shades

Very fittingly, Blastoise’s new Holowear turns the water-type starter into a firefighter. Not only is the new skin pretty adorable, some fans also think it’s a reference to an iconic episode of the Pokemon anime, with its shades reminding many of the Squirtle Squad. Unfortunately, it is on the more expensive side at 1200 Aeos Gems, but this is a far cry from the pretty shameless display earlier this month, when Timi tried to shake us down for $40 - just to get a Ninetales skin. The firefighter Holowear is live in Unite now.

Bonfire Style Talonflame Looks Like A Golf Dad

In our second Holowear add-on of the week, we have bonfire style Talonflame - who looks like a dad. I’m not too sure how that hat and a jumper tied around the neck makes it bonfire themed, but I dig it anyway. Not only is the Holowear pretty adorable, it’s also got an agreeable price tag, only setting you back 350 Aeos Gems. This skin went live in the game yesterday and can be picked up now.

Decidueye Spotted In Pokemon Unite Files Following Update

One of the most criminally underrated starters could be set to get some love in Pokemon Unite. Following the 1.2.1.7 update, dataminers spotted a reference to Decidueye in the game’s files, suggesting that the grass type owl is being considered for a future character slot. As exciting as this is (for fans with good taste in starters), we shouldn’t start celebrating just yet. Another dataminer was quick to note that the name is literally all we have to go on right now. There are no moves attached to Decidueye, not even placeholder ones that are subject to change later on. However, with the update also making mention of Skwovet and Nickit, it does appear that Timi is planning something, even if it is very far down the line.

Team Kaiju TImi Pokemon Dev

Pokemon Unite Developer Opens A New Studio

As we’ve previously reported, Pokemon Unite is performing very, very well. Further proof of that was seen this week, with developer Timi announcing an expansion into North America, opening a new studio called Team Kaiju. While not explicitly stated during the announcement, the opening of a new studio is likely in aid of the main office focussing on Pokemon Unite’s ongoing development, especially now that it looks like that will continue for some time. Team Kaiju, on the other hand, will be working on an unannounced multiplayer FPS. The breakout success of Pokemon Unite means we can probably expect much more news like this from the developer in the future.
