Pokemon Unite's roster grew a little more over Halloween as Greedent was added to the list of the MOBA's playabale Pokemon. An odd decision as there is a very long list of Pokemon that would make more sense as characters in Unite. Be sure not to say that too loud as it has since become evident that Unite's Greedent pulls absolutely no punches, both in defense as intended and pretty much everywhere else.

Unite players quickly started calling for Greedent to be nerfed, and those prayers have now been answered. Unite's first patch of its second season went live today and Greedent is no longer the juggernaut that it has been so far. Its berries now restore less health, and the shield it generates is smaller.

The biggest takeaway of all from Greedent's nerf is the hit to the move Belch. The radius Belch affected and the damage it doled out was the most OP of all Greedent's attributes. With the right build, the move can take away more than half an enemy Pokemon's HP, and Belch can affect multiple Pokemon at a time.

Well, at least it could. The patch has dialed back just how detrimental Belch can be. You also can't spam the move as much as you have been able to up until this point. In fact, it would appear the only element of Greedent's arsenal that has been buffed rather than nerfed in this latest update is Bullet Seed. Everything else has been toned down. The patch has also changed a few things about Alolan Ninetales, although the Pokemon appears to have been made more powerful rather than weakened like Greedent.

Season two of Unite kicked off earlier this week and has been receiving mixed reviews. The battle pass and Unite's store now has new holowear, which is great, but some of the items available during season one have disappeared, possibly forever, which is bad. On the bright side, Decidueye's arrival appears to be on the horizon as was teased via Unite's Twitter account earlier this week.
