We've learned that Pokémon are extraordinary creatures with great, and sometimes terrible, power. Sure, there is the prestige that ties in with catching 'em all, but the famous quote is widespread because Pokémon are genuinely fascinating. It would be too easy to say that all Pokémon are extraordinary creatures—but you might be correct if you said that.

Pokémon Sword and Shield were a wake-up call that the Pokédex has grown larger than we could have predicted. With 807 Pokémon in existence, we wish we could have included them all. But these are 10 Pokémon with truly extraordinary powers.

10 Mew

There are a plethora of reasons to suggest that Mew is an extraordinary Pokémon. For starters, it's unique ability allows it to learn every move in the game. It learns moves through Technical Machines, Hidden Machines, and the Move Tutor. It's able to do this because it possesses the DNA of every Pokémon, meaning it could be their oldest ancestor.

This Pokémon is capable of breathing in outer space. First sighted in the jungles of Guyana, South America, Mew is thought to be extinct by a significant portion of the scientific community. Not surprising, since Mew can vanish at will.

9 Eternatus

This extraterrestrial Pokémon first appeared around 20,000 years ago when it came to Earth inside a giant meteor. As the tallest Pokémon known to date, its power is unfathomable.

It can rip a hole in spacetime when it uses Dynamax energy in its Eternamax form. Following the opening of spacetime, Eternatus creates a fierce storm that prevents rival Pokémon from attacking. It can use moves such as Dynamax Cannon and Eternabeam, which are exclusive to this Pokémon. Eternatus is the original Dynamax Pokémon.

8 Guzzlord

This Pokémon takes after its name, like many in the Pokémon world. It's named Guzzlord and guzzles just about anything that crosses its path. It can swallow mountains and buildings whole.

No other Pokémon in the Pokémon world is like Guzzlord because Guzzlord is from a different world. It traveled to the Pokémon world we know and love through an Ultra Wormhole. It is classified as a Junkivore Pokémon. Using its tongues in a wavelike motion, it sucks up whatever food it can.

7 Drowzee

A significant number of Psychic-type Pokémon are known for their extraordinary powers. Drowzee is one of the most unusual Pokémon because of the powers that it possesses.

This Pokémon can put people or other Pokémon to sleep while sensing their dreams. While its foes are asleep, Drowzee eats their dreams. Most often, this Pokémon eats the dreams of children, because Drowzee finds them to be tastier. It has an incredible memory and it remembers the dreams of each dream it tastes.

6 Machamp

As one of the first Pokémon to appear in the trading card game and the anime, Machamp is a fierce fighter with extraordinary powers. With abnormally high Attack power, it can land five hundred punches in one second.

This Pokémon's arms move faster than it can think! It's no wonder why Machamp was given a champion belt. When Gigantamaxing, Machamp can fill its arms with so much power that each punch it lands is equivalent to a bomb blast.

5 Kecleon

It can be tough to catch a Kecleon, not because it is a powerful Pokémon, but because of its color-changing ability. By changing into various colors, Kecleon can use camouflage to hide from trainers and other Pokémon. It sneaks up on other Pokémon, then licks them with its long tongue.

This Pokémon is also known for changing colors when it is in a different state of mood and health. According to Kecleon's Pokémon Black Pokédex entry, "It can freely change its body's color. The zigzag pattern on its belly doesn't change, however."

4 Alakazam

Alakazam is obtained by trading a Kadabra, making it one of the most challenging Pokémon to acquire in the first generation of the Pokémon main series games. Alakazam holds two spoons, but it is known to hold five spoons when it Mega-evolves.

This Pokémon is considered a Pokémon with extraordinary powers in part because of its IQ. Alakazam has an IQ of over 5,000! Its mind-bending power allows it to read minds. According to its Pokémon Diamon Pokédex entry, it can "recall everything it has experienced since birth."

3 Dragonite

When we first witness the shadow of Dragonite in the Pokémon anime, we knew that this Pokémon was special. In its giant form, it was considered an unknown Pokémon by Bill. We later found out that Dragonite is a friendly Pokémon that saves people and ships lost at sea.

This dual-type Ghost and Flying Pokémon is intimidating at firs,t but will respect its trainer once it is caught.

The Distortion World is but one of the dimensions Giratina can travel. Capable of manipulating space and time, Giratina deserves a place on this list. Its mind-numbing powers could make it the most extraordinary Pokémon in existence!

According to Pokémon mythology, which might not be so mythological after all, Arceus it the oldest Pokémon in history. It is referred to as "The Original One" because of the legends that go with it.

We can't know for sure, but it is possible that Arceus created the Sinnoh region, as well as the entire Pokémon universe. This Pokémon is a guardian for the Pokémon world and protects it from meteors and other natural disasters. For the previously mentioned reasons, Arceus is considered a Pokémon with extraordinary powers.
