Pokimane accidentally displayed an inappropriate video thumbnail while streaming on Twitch – and its view count has already increased by millions.

Getting baited by viewers into showing unseemly videos on-stream is like an endless game of hot-potato for popular personalities. No one knows who will be next, but at this point it seems to be an inescapable fate if you're a big streamer on Twitch. Unfortunately for Pokimane, it was her time to shine this week.

During the broadcast, Pokimane was chatting and viewing media with her audience. Although this practice can be risky, she has a system in place to keep inappropriate content out. Supposedly Pokimane only opens links approved by mods, and even then those links are opened on an auxiliary monitor first. Regrettably, Pokimane thought she knew what she was opening, pulling it over to her main monitor before the page had finished loading. What popped up was a video from a popular adult site, showing an explicit thumbnail to her audience.

She instantly let out a shriek and launched the window out of view. Her face was that of horror and confusion, clearly shocked that something so explicit had slipped through the cracks. Pokimane quickly ended stream and deleted the VOD, and it looks like her swift actions resulted in a suspension-dodge from Twitch.

The incident occurred only this week, yet the off-color video has already gathered nearly 3 million extra views. I don't know what this says about society or Pokimane's audience, but it can't be good. Redditors have even found that multiple accounts on the adult website have been commenting about how they enjoyed seeing the video on Pokimane's stream. Pretty weird, but hopefully most of the comments were intended to be humorous.

In other news, Pokimane passed the 5 million subscriber mark on YouTube – a better milestone than the former mentioned.

Being successful on Twitch means having a small army at the ready, constantly trying to entrap you in an embarrassing public situation. Completely avoiding mishaps requires perfection at all times while live, so slip-ups are simply bound to happen.
