Capcom has confirmed that Pragmata's development is progressing well and that a team of young employees is working on the next-gen action-adventure title.

It's been a while since we last heard of Pragmata, Capcom's mysterious sci-fi game with see-through cats, little girls, 3D-printers, and orbital stations in space. In fact, after its surprising announcement during the 2020 PlayStation Showcase, the developers have gone quiet. If you were wondering whether the promising project might have been cancelled, like Deep Down, fear not — the developers have provided a small update.

During its Integrated Report 2021, Capcom highlighted that Pragmata is moving forward smoothly, Wccftech reported. Capcom revealed that "newly hired young employees are given the chance to acquire know-how and skills through hands-on experience in the field as they are assigned to the development of popular IPs and major titles" — and Pragmata is just one such endeavor for the young developers instead of the veterans.

All in all, Capcom is "making steady progress" on Pragmata's development. The company noted that "incorporating the youthful sensibilities of digital natives adds a new appeal to IP," so it's even more curious to see how Pragmata is shaping right now. Perhaps we'll see more of the upcoming project sometime next year.

Pragmata's reveal trailer (above is his extended version) was intriguing enough on its own, but the trailer was quite a vague one and gave little to no information about its plot or gameplay. Originally, Pragmata was planned for launch sometime in 2022 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, but it was quietly postponed until 2023 later on.

In its fiscal report, Capcom also revealed Resident Evil Village is on track to become the best-selling Resident Evil game of all time with 5 million copies sold since May across all platforms. The game will receive free additional DLC in the upcoming months, presumably adding some minor features like new difficulty settings, alongside a promised DLC pack that will add more story content.
