Prey (2017) didn't do too well on launch, but it has earned cult status over the years, doubly so after coming to Xbox Game Pass. It's finally getting the recognition it deserves whether it's from Bethesda, Microsoft, or the fans, and some are showing that appreciation with their inventive creations. A new one sees the game's poster brought to life in Fallout 76 of all places.

Vadibe posted the image on Twitter, showing a giant Mirelurk behind the player who is wearing a red jumpsuit with a space helmet. The Mirelurk is in place of the smoke on Prey's poster which reveals the moon and space station, contorting at the edges to form claws like the monsters you'll find in-game.

Rather than the walkway we see Prey's protagonist on, surrounded by a foggy void, Vadibe is taking a stroll in the misty woods. It's not identical, but the unsettling gloomy atmosphere is retained. They even re-did the logo, transforming it from 'Prey' to the more fitting 'Prey 76'.

A sequel for Prey might look unlikely, but who knows? Plenty of series looked dead in the water before resurfacing and Arkane's sleeper hit could be one of them. Its spirit lives on amongst fans regardless of whether it ever makes a comeback, at least.

Nonetheless, Arkane is still chugging along having just launched Deathloop and it has a Left 4 Dead-like vampire shooter on the slate for next year - it's called Redfall. We could see a Prey-like spiritual successor as Deathloop was to Dishonored. Regardless of what happens, we can at least celebrate these fun little themed creations from the fans.
