Prince Harry of the British Royal Family has spoken out against the dangers of video game addiction and has labeled Fortnite as the prime example of a title that should be banned, due to the detrimental effect it is having on the minds of young people.

According to The Daily ExpressPrince Harry discussed Fortnite while visiting a YMCA in London, where he claimed that the game was more addictive than substance abuse and that it shouldn't be allowed in homes. Prince Harry spoke at length about Fortnite, as he has talked to parents who are frustrated with the game.

“The game shouldn’t be allowed.

“Where is the benefit of having it in your household?

“It’s created to addict, an addiction to keep you in front of a computer for as long as possible. It’s so irresponsible.

“Parents have got their hands up - they don’t know what to do about it.

“It’s like waiting for the damage to be done.”

Prince Harry is concerned about the effects that addictive video games have on the minds of young people and how social media has infiltrated the lives of so many. The Prince is an advocate of parents encouraging their children to engage in the world away from the Internet, due to the rise of cyber-bullying across the world.

“Without that human connection, when you do have a problem you have nowhere to go, the only place you might go is online and you will probably end up getting bullied.”

It's likely that Prince Harry won't pursue any actual banning of Fortnite in the UK, as the nation is already pretty busy trying to get out of the European Union. If Prince Harry does take this issue seriously, then we might see the birth of the "Forexit" movement, with a referendum held to determine whether the UK would leave Fortnite or not.

Prince Harry is the Duke of Sussex and is currently the sixth in the line of succession for the throne of Great Britain. Prince Harry is expecting a child with his wife, Meghan Markle.
