If you’ve ever wanted to know what it would be like to intern for an intergalactic biologist, Professor Lupo And His Horrible Pets provides sufficient insight.
Many know what internships entail. Hopefully it was paid, but statistically speaking, it was more than likely unpaid. Many perform internships as stepping stones to bigger and better things, enduring tedium and menial tasks with the promise of eventual gainful employment.
Usually, you don’t have to escape from man-eating xenomorphs. The keyword in there is "usually."
In Professor Lupo And His Horrible Pets, the upcoming game from Barcelona-based BeautiFun Games, you play as a space intern for the brilliant and adventurous Professor Lupo. After traveling the galaxy in search of weird extraterrestrial life, Professor Lupo returns to Earth with a spaceship full of organisms. Some of them are cute, some are cuddly, but a lot of them are horrifically dangerous and will eat your face off as soon as they spot you.
The plan is to sell these creatures to the highest bidder, but before Lupo can close the deal, the Aurora Space Station is attacked by an unseen force and all the aliens escape! Now, you have to somehow escape the space station and still do a sufficiently good job to get that glowing letter of recommendation.
Strategy is the focal point of this puzzle-action-adventure game. Each organism has its own unique set of behaviors that you can exploit for pitting them against one another to help you escape. Each level also has a bunch of strange technologies that could also help or hinder your escape plan.
There are 100 levels to get through, so don’t expect this escape to be easy. Each one is narratively driven by characters with real voice acting, resulting in a game that isn't limited to an endless series of puzzles.
Professor Lupo And His Horrible Pets arrives July 11th for Windows PC (Steam), Mac, and Nintendo Switch. Check out the trailer above to get a taste of some of the features in the game.
