Project Eve developer Shift Up Corporation has announced that the title is undergoing a name change and has been renamed to Stellar Blade. We didn't get a specific release date for Stellar Blade, but the game is expected to launch at some point in 2023.

However, we did get a pretty in-depth story trailer that gives us a better idea of what the game is actually about. According to an accompanying post on the PlayStation blog, Eve and her crew have tasked themselves with reclaiming an extinct Earth and are led to mankind's last remaining city called Xion. It's there where Eve will developer close relationships with citizens of the city as she attempts to rebuild. It also seems like Stellar Blade will take the choices you make into consideration as well, as you can decide whether or not to help out the citizens of Xion.

Of course, Project Eve made a splash when it was first announced back in 2021 for its over-the-top combat, and we got to see a whole bunch more during today's trailer. This time, we get to see Eve taking on all sort of massive horrible abominations, as players will also be tasked with taking down some fierce bosses with well-timed reflects and parries.

Stellar Blade wasn't the only stellar announcement during the State of Play as Sony really delivered with some top notch titles. For starters, the show opened up with a reveal for Tekken 8, although the excitement was slightly subdued since we didn't get a release date. We did get a more specific release date for Like A Dragon: Ishin! though, a remastered version of Yakuza Ishin! - that will launch at some point in February next year.

To finish things off, we also got another look at God of War: Ragnarok, including an epic fight between Kratos and Odin that will leave your mouth on the floor until the game launches on November 9 later this year.
