Sony's release of Spider-Man on the PS4 was met with pretty much universal praise. It was a well thought out, polished game that featured the best Spidey action ever seen in game. The story was well told and great characters were included throughout. However, there are still a plethora of characters that can be included in the next Spider-Man game. These other members of the Spider-Fam should get their due time.
Cindy Moon, better known as Silk, is an underrated member of the Spider-Fam. Her first appearance was fairly recent making her first full appearance in The Amazing Spider-Man #4 in July of 2014. Silk's origin is closely tied with Peter Parker's as she was bitten by the same radioactive spider that gave him his powers. Cindy was imprisoned by Ezekiel and kept locked away for many years before Spider-Man helped free her. Their powers are similar, but Silk's webbing is organic unlike Parker's which he made himself. She was one of the most important members of the Spider-Fam during the events of Spider-Verse.
Scarlet-Spider (Ben Reilly)
There have been a handful of characters that have used the alias of Scarlet-Spider, but Ben Reilly is the best of the bunch. As a clone of Peter, Ben shared some of his memories and had a strong connection to Parker. After being left for dead by Peter during their confrontation when Ben was sent to kill him, he left New York so as not to cause problems for Peter. He took up the mantle of Scarlet-Spider and chose to become a hero like Parker. The two have a strong history together and became friends when Ben returned to New York.
Spider-Gwen is from an alternate universe where Gwen Stacy was the one bit by a radioactive spider instead of Peter Parker. She began her superhero journey by using her powers for self-enjoyment rather than the greater good. This caused some conflict and eventually her best friend, Peter Parker, died and she was blamed for his death. This caused her to try to do right to help clear her name and set her on the path of being a hero.
Gwen was part of the major comic book story-line "Spider-Verse" where she helped defend the multi-verse alongside other Spider-Men and Women. After the conclusion of the events, Spider-Gwen decided to be a multi-verse protector, helping wherever in the multi-verse she may be needed.
This seems like an easy choice. Miles Morales has been a fan favorite after taking up the mantle of Spider-Man after Peter Parker's death in the Ultimate Universe. Morales recently had a movie about him (and other Spidey members) that won the Oscar for best animated film - Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
He is probably the most well known member of the Spider-Fam aside from Peter and fans would be excited to be able to play as Morales in a video game. He is a great character that can bring a lot of depth to the series with his strong backstory and variety of superpowers.
Superior Spider-Man was an interesting (yet quite strange) comic book series that revolved around a dying Doctor Octopus swapping bodies with Peter Parker and taking up the mantle of Spider-Man. Peter died while in Otto's body but from some comic-book magic, was able to transfer his sense of responsibility into the new Otto to make him want to be Spider-Man.
The entire Superior Spider-Man story line was strange and only ran for a little over a year and across 33 issues. Still, it had some engaging moments and an Otto-centric Spider-Man made for some interesting moments and helped carve the series into a piece of Spider-Man history.
