Yesterday’s UI stream gave us a good look at the PS5’s menus and UI’s, but the narration and music made it difficult to hear what the menu would sound like. Now that we’ve got a few un-produced videos of the PS5 in action, we’ve got a much better idea of what to expect when the PS5 releases in November.

While the PS5’s UI has been completely rebuilt to offer brand new features, it will at least sound pretty familiar to PS4 owners. The menu beeps and boops are perhaps a little sharper, a little higher-pitched, but generally, they sound similar to the notification effects on the PS4 and PS3 before it.

The videos come courtesy of Japanese gaming site 4Gamer.net, who managed to get some footage of the PS5 in action without all the pageantry of a livestream presentation. It’s the Japanese version of the console, but correlating it with the English video that was published yesterday, we can get a good idea of what we’re looking at.

UI layout has definitely evolved over the years, and the PS5’s has changed to make use of some next-gen features. The Control Center, as Sony is calling it, provides the user with instant access to everything that’s going on at the press of a button. Game info is displayed front and center and even tells the player how far they are in the game’s level--provided that the game supports this functionality, of course.

A quick resume feature is also available and is obviously inspired by Microsoft’s Xbox. Just because they’re rivals doesn’t mean they can’t steal each other’s good ideas.

We learned a lot in yesterday's PS5 presentation, including how players can even use their microphone to ask for hints and tips. This only works if the player has a PS Plus subscription, so Sony is definitely looking to sweeten their subscription deal.

Before we get the new PS5, Sony will launch the new PlayStation Store on October 21. This is obviously to prepare Sony's online marketplace for the PS5's arrival and to ensure that PS5 games are displayed front and center.

The PlayStation 5 arrives on November 12.
