PlayStation VR is probably the weakest of the major VR options, but it is still a decent budget option for PS4 owners. People were previously unsure if Sony was going to continue their dedication to the burgeoning platform, but the company recently said the PS5 will receive its own VR platform sometime in 2022.

Details as of now are scarce, but we imagine it will be significantly more powerful than the currently available PS VR. With this is in mind, there are many games from other VR platforms we hope make their way to the next PS VR. While some of these are Oculus exclusives as of now, perhaps some deals can be made to get them to PS5's VR.

10 Tabletop Simulator

This game provides potentially endless replay value. In Tabletop Simulator, players can create essentially any boardgame that they desire, and the current library encompasses just about every single board game you could imagine. It doesn't seem especially taxing on the hardware, so we do not imagine it would be too hard to port to even the current PS VR.

9 The Climb

With the magic of VR, things that would be mundane in any normal game can now be the main mechanic. The objective is simple and explained rather curtly in the game's name — just climb to the top of each level.

Fortunately, failing does not result in a grievous injury like it might in real life. This was developer Crytek's first foray into VR, and they are currently gearing up to release the sequel, The Climb 2.

8 Defector

This one is currently exclusive to Oculus headsets, but we do not know what the future might bring. This spy thriller is a rather short VR adventure, coming in at just over 3 hours. But it has a few decent set pieces that reinforce the value of VR. Narrative-driven experiences in VR are always welcome additions to a library, even if the game will already be three years old by the time 2022 comes around.

7 Fallout 4

Fallout 4 certainly is not the most beloved of the first-person Fallout games, but it still is a great title. It came to Vive headsets in 2017. The port was decently received, but many feel it still shows the limits of what VR is capable of when it comes to triple-A games. Perhaps taking another crack at it on the PS5's VR could make various improvements to the problems people have with it. While Bethesda is at it, why not bring Fallout 3 and New Vegas into VR too?

6 Population: One

Battle royale has been all the rage for the past couple of years, and these massive multiplayer battles do not seem to be going away anytime soon. The player count is significantly smaller than the one hundred or more we are used to in Population: One, but to concession makes sense considering the VR nature of the game. The developer said a PS VR version is in the works, but we've heard no new news. Perhaps they would be better served by waiting for the PS5's VR headset.

5 Virtual Virtual Reality

With a game like Virtual Virtual Reality, you know things are about to get weird. The gameplay involves helping AI with various jobs. The game does not stop there, however. Throughout learning these mechanics, you learn more about the future world around you, its society, and the company whose services you are using in the game. The gameplay variety and the unraveling narrative keep you intrigued until the end.

4 VRChat

Some VR titles feel more like social spaces and experiences than games, and that is not always a bad thing. VRChat lets players interact with each other in a 3D space through the magic of VR. The game is also playable without a headset, but the real allure is hanging out with friends and strangers using immersive technology. The game has recently surged in popularity thanks to recent ports to other VR platforms, so it only seems right to bring it to the next PS VR eventually.

3 Lone Echo

Developer Ready at Dawn once made games exclusively for Sony consoles, most notably the PSP God of War games and The Order: 1886. They became a part of Oculus in 2020 after already making games for VR platforms for three years. 2017's Lone Echo was revered upon release and still one of the best for headsets, making it perfect for a port on a future headset. While a narrative-driven experience, a multiplayer component is also included which has its own competitive scene.

2 Medal Of Honor: Above And Beyond

While reviews were not the most glowing for Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond, the game is still a spectacle to behold. It is one of the most expensive VR games ever produced, and it certainly shows.

It has a laughably large install, but we hope it can make its way to the PS5 VR's platform nonetheless. Even though the reception is mixed, most agree it is better than the modern reboot from a decade ago.

1 Half-Life: Alyx

Half-Life fans never thought they'd see the day when Valve brought the series back. Just like Half-Life 2 revolutionized the first-person shooter, Half-Life: Alyx represents the next step in VR gaming. It is just unfortunate so few people can play it due to the hardware requirements. We'd love if the next PS VR was strong enough to run this game, even if it had to make some concessions. Fans just want to revisit that world again.
