PUBG Mobile turns three later this month, and Tencent is marking the occasion with a massive update. This includes a new game mode – Hundred Rhythms – along with a new CG movie and an in-game electronic music square, complete with a DJ stage and music arcade machine.

"Starting from today, players can drop into the all-new music-themed game mode 'Hundred Rhythms' in the beloved Erangel map," reads the announcement. "When players queue for the new variant, they will be prompted to choose one of three special armbands on Spawn Island, which boast unique in-game powers. The armbands each offer one core active ability boost, and can upgrade with two passive boosts by collecting cassettes throughout the map."

Some of these special abilities include the chance to deploy a semi-transparent barrier, throw a scanning device to identify nearby foes, or activate a ghillie suit that conceals your weapons and backpack.

As for the "electronic music square," it will be pumping out remixed versions of PUBG Mobile Originals music throughout the day. Tencent said that you can enjoy more DJ music "starting on March 15, as a special celebration of [its] anniversary."

Update 1.3 includes several non-music additions to PUBG Mobile, including:

  • Mosin-Nagant: The Mosin-Nagant – a 7.62mm bolt-action sniper rifle – will spawn on Erangel and Vikendi, replacing some of the Kar98K rifles. It's as powerful as the Kar98K, but its bullets fly faster and have less damage drop-off. It can knock out an unarmored enemy with a single shot from a long distance.
  • Motor Glider: Take to the skies in this two-seat vehicle that consists of a front seat for the pilot and a back seat where passengers can shoot from.
  • Metro Royale Update: The new chapter “Uncover” will be available for Metro Royale mode with Metro Exodus monsters and the Tikhar Rifle removed. At the start of the new chapter, player rankings, honor levels, and inventory will be reset.

As for that CG movie, it's titled The Growth and takes a look at PUBG Mobile over the years, specifically focusing on " the growth process of common players in the world of PUBG Mobile." The short video is currently available on YouTube.
