Rainbow Six Siege is free to play this week on PC, Xbox One, and Playstation 4.
If you’ve yet to dive into Ubisoft’s tactical FPS, now is the perfect time to do so. Running from August 28th through September 4th, Rainbow Six Siege will be free to play. All progress made during this time will carry over to the full game should you decide to purchase it when the week comes to a close.
Gaining access to the free week event is simple. PC users can find it on UPlay, Xbox One users must be an Xbox Live Gold member and navigate to the Rainbow Six Siege product page, and on PS4 players can access it by visiting the Rainbow Six Siege page on the Playstation Network. Ubisoft is also discounting the game’s price at various digital outlets during this time, so be sure to pick it up while it’s cheap!
The timing of this free week coincides well with the next update of Rainbow Six Siege; Ember Rise. This update will bring with it two new operators, a reworked Kanal map, and literally hundreds of other changes. New players just starting out with this free week will have a chance to get acclimated to the unforgiving nature of the game, before the Ember Rise content is released to the public.
While Siege has had its ups and downs over the years, it has firmly established itself as one of the best multiplayer FPS games on the market. The developers release new content on a regular basis, and are doing everything they can to stop the toxic community from getting any worse. Since the game's initial launch, more than ten new operators have been added, several new maps have been introduced to players, and annoying glitches have been fixed. Ubisoft easily could have abandoned the game long ago, but we are glad they stuck it out and turned Siege into an excellent entry in the series.
Here’s hoping that Ember Rise only further improves this wonderful game, and that this free week gets even more players hooked on its addictive gameplay.
