Rainbow Six Siege: North Star hits the test servers tomorrow, and we've got a lot of ground to cover to fill you in on all the changes. Thankfully, Siege's new operator is a helicopter pilot that will help us out.

Mina “Thunderbird” Sky is the 61st operator to arrive in Rainbow Six Siege. An indigenous Nakoda and helicopter pilot, Thunderbird is a defender that specializes in healing. However, her healing ability doesn't discriminate and has to be used carefully to avoid accidentally assisting the attacking team.

Thunderbird's Kona Station will automatically heal nearby operators, prioritizing the ones with the lowest health. The station fires a "tasty health nugget" that works similar to Doc's Stim Pistol--it can overheal the target, but those extra health points decay over time.

Most notably, the Kona Station doesn't discriminate between allies and enemies, so Thunderbird players will have to be extra careful about where they place their healing turret.

In addition to the new operator, Ubisoft revealed the North Star changes to gameplay after death in a recent blog post. The idea here is to keep dead players engaged right up until the next round begins by giving both attackers and defenders options after death.

For the attackers, dead players will be able to send out drones and use spying tools and gadgets. If a player dies before sending out their drone, they'll be able to deploy the drone from their team's spawn location. Defenders, on the other hand, get drone-killing bulletproof cameras that can now rotate and fire EMP blasts to knock out enemy drones. Additionally, Echo, Maestro, and Mozzie will be able to use their abilities after death.

Ash, Finka, Melusi, Vigil, and Zero are all getting balance tweaks, while Nokk's balance changes will be kept on the test server only for now. The Bearing 9 pistol and SMG-12 have also received tweaks to their recoil to make them easier to control, and the Favela Map is getting a new layout.
