Star Wars Battlefront 2 has been out for a while now and seen some significant changes to the game. Some of the more interesting developments have been to the heroes and villains.

Former powerhouses like Rey have seen a few nerfs while once weak characters like Boba Fett have seen special treatment.

20 Captain Phasma

Captain Phasma has become the weakest hero in the game as a result of the updates. She starts with her First Order Sentry Droid To stun enemies and attacks them with Staff Strike which is easily dodged by enemies who aren’t stunned.

Her Survivor technique gives her a little more health to survive attacks, but all in all, she’s little more than a meat shield for other heroes.

19 Han Solo

His DL-44 blaster is a great weapon at close range, but with a mediocre health pool, he won't survive attacks from melee fighters.

His Detonate Charge can be handy for guerilla tactics, but largely he’s the kind of fighter who stuns the enemy with Shoulder Charge, blasts them a few times with Sharpshooter, and retreats when the enemy starts getting up.

18 Leia Organa

Leia's Squad Shield can provide protection for herself and allies while she lobs a flash grenade to blind the enemy.

Once the enemy is disoriented she can trigger her Rapid Fire to put several rounds in them before they recover. But heroes wielding lightsabers can deflect her Rapid Fire and the shield’s only useful if she’s behind it.

17 Finn

Finn’s a great support character. His ability Big Deal provides various buffs to allies that gets better the more people are around.

Deadeye gives him greater accuracy which does good damage until the stronger villains close the distance and chop his head off. He’s suited for group play and not a standalone hero.

16 Count Dooku

Count Dooku is a crowd control fighter. His Lighting Stun deals great damage against small groups but loses strength against more numbers.

Expose Weakness bogs down enemy movement speed and raises his and ally damage so he can join the fray with his rapid Duellist strikes.

15 Lando Calrissian

Lando is really good at sowing confusion and opening attacks for his allies. Disabler will disrupt enemy radars and stun opponents allowing him to use Sharp Shot to fire powerful bursts.

Then Lando can use Smoke Grenade to beat a hasty retreat or cause even more confusion. Unfortunately, lightsabers ignore the smoke and without his tricks he's very vulnerable.

14 Bossk

Bossk is most effective as a guerrilla fighter, employing hit and run tactics to whittle down his enemies. His Diozis Grenade will poison hunkered down enemies, proximity mines can be used to lay down traps, and his Predator Instincts gives him powerful micro grenades that can take out spongy enemies. His weakness is a low health pool, if a hero can lock him down with a stun or other effect he’s done for.

13 Darth Maul

Furious Throw is better after the update, but not as effective as lightsaber hurling was in previous games. Choke Hold can drop enemies so he can pounce with Spin attack, assuming it doesn’t hurl him off a cliff.

12 Yoda

Yoda is a great healer with Presence and is a decent crowd controller with Unleash, but he’s not a great fighter.

The recent update did give him the ability to block lightsaber attacks which has raised his ranking quite a bit, but he doesn’t really shine as a brawler and his Dash Attack gets him in trouble with cliffs.

11 Emperor Palpatine

Updates have not been kind to the Emperor. Dark Aura is now a line of sight attack meaning it can’t go through walls anymore.

Electrocute is good for followup attacks with enemies and his Chain Lightning is good to blast groups. The nerfs to his damage output and to Dark Aura have made him much weaker though.

10 Iden Versio

If you’re unsure who to pick in any given game mode, choose the adaptable Iden. As a long-range fighter, she can deploy a Stun Droid that locks down enemies with a chain stun and then follow up with the powerful Pulse Cannon to obliterate foes.

If cornered she can switch to alternate fire on her blaster and trigger her Droid Shield, but she really needs to fight from a distance.

9 Kylo Ren

Kylo Ren's basic attacks are weak so he must rely on his abilities. Kylo can use Pull to bring enemies close, lock them down with Freeze, and then jump between them with Frenzy to slice them up. Then it’s a matter of staying alive until everything recharges.

8 Obi-Wan Kenobi

Obi-Wan is a defensive fighter with a deep stamina pool and Restrictive Mind Trick that nullifies enemies abilities for a time.

His All-Out Push is great for knocking enemies back and his Defensive Rush will get him to the fight quickly, although his smaller health pool and weak attacks put him at a disadvantage once he gets there.

7 Luke Skywalker

His abilities allow him to get in with Rush, Repulse enemies in the area, and then send enemies backward with Push to escape. He’s a great brawler, but not as good as other brawlers because of a low stamina.

6 Rey

Rey has seen significant nerfs since the early days of the game. Insight reveals hidden enemies, Dash Strike and Mind Trick are great for both attack or retreat, but ultimately her abilities have been hindered by updates leaving her a strong normal fighter but a lackluster specialist.

5 General Grievous

Grievous is a brawler and needs to be used as such to stay alive. His Thrust Surge propels him at the enemy to knock them down, Unrelenting Advance activates his four lightsabers that attack and deflect, and his Claw Rush lets him go spider mode and push his enemies back. The key is to kill the enemy before the stamina fades.

4 Boba Fett

Boba Fett is a stealth-based fighter that’s tricky to utilize, but brutal nonetheless. For the Hunt knocks out enemy radar and gives him unlimited fuel for his jet pack making him sneaky, when in position he can deploy concussion rockets to stun enemies then blast them with Rocket Barrage before darting away again.

3 Chewbacca

Chewbacca’s Charge Slam is great for knockdown and his Shock Grenades is great for electrical damage to groups.

But where he really shines is Furious Bowcaster, the weapon can’t be blocked by lightsabers and the ability pumps out fully charged shots without charging. His only downside is a large hitbox, slow movement speed, and mediocre health pool.

2 Anakin Skywalker

Anakin Skywalker is a tiger in this game. He can knock back enemies with Heroic Might, drag foes to him with Pull Dominance, and then lock down enemies with Retribution when Anakin or his allies are attacked.

1 Darth Vader

The most powerful foe in the game is one of the greatest villains the Star Wars universe has ever seen.

With Force Choke he can drop enemies and his Saber Throw is great at medium range. But he really shines as a tank with his massive health pool and Focus Rage that raises damage dealt and drops damage received.
