10 Ariados
At first glance, Ariados resembles a member of the arachnid family. As a Pokémon that evolves from a Spinarak, there is a strong reason to believe Ariados is a spider. Differently than a spider, however, Ariados has only six legs, while typical arachnids have eight legs. It is true that arachnids can have fewer legs than eight, yet, to qualify as a spider, insects must have at least eight legs. Ariados has purple eyes and stripes across its body. Some consider Ariados to be one of the worst Pokémon because of its mediocre stats and inferior moveset.
9 Leavanny
Leavanny evolves from Swadloon and is part of the same evolution chain as Sewaddle. As the final form in its evolution chain, Leavanny has above average stats in Attack and Speed. Originating from the Generation V of Pokémon, you can catch Levanny using a Net Ball, which is super effective against Bug and Water pokémon. This thin leaf pokémon appears frail, and this is reflective of its lower defensive stats. As a Bug/Grass type, Swadloon has the potential to learn devastating moves such as Leaf Blade, X-Scissor, and Leaf Storm.
8 Pinsir
Often, classic pokémon from the first generation are considered the best. Pinsir does not evolve unless you count its Mega Evolution into Mega Pinsir. Once Metapod reaches the right level, it will come out of its cocoon and blossom into a beautiful Butterfree. Since Metapod caught in the Viridian Forest only know the Harden technique, it is worthwhile to evolve it from a Caterpie. Doing so will ensure Metapod learns Tackle before being evolved. Metapod is a pure Bug Pokémon, which means you should load up on Bug attacks. Considering the Pokémon has no appendages, it is strange that Metapod doesn't tip over.
6 Golisopod
Golisopod is a Grass/Water-type Pokémon that is weak against Electric, Flying and Rock-type moves. It is a new Pokémon that was introduced in Generation VII, the generation with Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon. Although a Golisopod has extraordinary size, its learned Moveset through leveling is weak. It is advisable to teach Golisopod moves through TMs instead of relying on its learnset. Golisopod cannot be found in the wild and must evolve from a Wimpod to get the entry in your Pokédex.
5 Crustle
This Pokémon engages in fights with other creatures of the same kind. The winner of a fight is determined by whose rock shell breaks first. Crustle is an atypical pokémon who is part Rock and part Bug.
Crustle looks more like a crab than a bug, but it's considered part Bug. Its different layers of rock are visible when watching a Crustle. It seems like this pokémon should have been a Water/Rock type like Corsola, Omanyte, and Tirtouga are. Regardless, it is one of the coolest Bug pokémon.
4 Heracross
Being a Bug/Fighting pokémon makes Heracross vulnerable to flying moves that give quadruple the power of an ordinary move. Heracross is also weak against Fire, Psychic, and Fairy moves. You wouldn't want to get on the bad side of a Heracross because of the pronged horn on its head. If that doesn't scare you, then its claws and spikes might. This pokémon can mega evolve into a Mega Heracross. Ash Ketchum is a trainer who caught a Heracross. In the episode of Pokémon titled "A Sappy Ending," Ash and his friends are saved from Team Rocket by a wild Heracross. Before the end of the episode, Ash catches the Heracross.

3 Vikavolt
Vikavolt evolves from a Charjabug, another cool pokémon that almost made this list. As a Bug/Electric-type Pokémon, Vikavolt is known as a "stag beetle" pokémon. Interestingly enough, Vikavolt produces electricity from an organ inside its body. Although it appears to be docile, getting close to a Vikavolt can give you a painful shock. Vikavolt has high stats in Special Attack and Defense. Vikavolt is not a flying pokémon, although it can fly by using its flat wings. Vikavolt weighs approximately 99.2 lbs.
2 Butterfree
This pokémon is one of the first three-stage that you can obtain in the first generation of Pokémon games. Its majestic, three-stage transformation from a Caterpie (caterpillar) and eventually into a Butterfree (butterfly) was likely inspired by the transformation that a caterpillar makes to become a butterfly.
This Bug pokémon is best used early in the game to help you advance. If you show enough patience, Butterfree can learn moves like Psybeam and Air Slash through leveling, and Solar Beam, Hyper Beam, and Psychic by TM.
