Over the years, Rare has released games that span all sorts of different genres including racing, platformers, first-person shooters, adventures, fighting, and more. This highly successful company has released over 100 different games since the company was founded in 1985, and we will be forever grateful to them for some of the masterpieces they’ve brought to us over the years. Banjo-Kazooie

Released in 1998, Banjo-Kazooie is one of Rare’s most successful games. It was released on the N64, and the game sold nearly 2 million copies in the United States. It’s an adventure game that is still loved today by many, though most of us are still bummed about not seeing a remake…

GoldenEye 007

Appearing a little bit earlier on than Banjo-Kazooie, GoldenEye 007 graced the N64 scene in 1997. Considered to be one of the most loved first-person shooters of all time, the game sold 8 million units worldwide. A remaster was made available via PC emulators, not that we’re encouraging that…

Perfect Dark

As one of the most phenomenal racing games ever created, Diddy Kong Racing is still remembered to this day. The game sold nearly 4.5 million copies worldwide. Most people remember the quirky music and aesthetics as what sets this one apart from other racing games.

Donkey Kong Country

Released in 1994, Donkey Kong Country is a side-scrolling adventure game. Rare released this game on the SNES, and it sold 9.3 million copies worldwide. Numerous Donkey Kong games have been released since, but this one did exceedingly well, becoming the third best selling SNES game.

Rare Today

We haven’t heard a ton from Rare since they announced their project, Everwild, back in 2019. We aren’t expecting to see this game any time in 2021, but it’s quite possible that we could at least look forward to an announcement about the release date at some point during this year.
