The Nintendo 64 is a fan-favorite console. Gamers loved almost everything about it, from the durable cartridges to the excellent exclusives—from GoldenEye 007 to The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, it had some real gems. In fact, some of the console’s games are still worth playing today, even with the dated graphics.

Not all of these games sold well, however. In fact, out of the Nintendo 64’s catalog of over 290 games, there are some games which are almost impossible to find today. These are the games which either had region restrictions, limited availability, or extremely few gamers decided to spend their hard-earned money on them. Whatever the case, these games are worth a fortune today. That is, if you can find them and then convince the owner to sell it to you. After all, the longer they hold on to these games, the more valuable they might become.

10 AIDYN CHRONICLES - $380

The Nintendo 64 did not have a lot of role-playing games. In fact, it missed out on some games which ended up becoming classics on other platforms, like Final Fantasy VII. Just for that, Aidyn Chronicles is a rarity when it comes to Nintendo 64 games.

The game had a pretty large scope, and it struggled under the weight of its ambition. Reviews were lukewarm from both reviewers and gamers. That said, the fact that it’s one of the few true RPGs on the platform means that it has become valuable with time. Right now, interested gamers will need around $380 to find a boxed version of it.

9 TUROK: RAGE WARS (GRAY CARTRIDGE) - $398.00

Turok is one of the video game franchises which were massive hits in the 90s, but faded into obscurity and have not recovered since. When Turok: Rage Wars came out on the Nintendo 64, it was controversial because it had plenty of carnage and a different sort of gameplay. This was not in line with most Nintendo 64 games up to that time, which mainly consisted of family-friendly games.

The game is tough to find today, but getting it in the rare gray cartridge is almost a fool’s errand. If you are lucky enough to find a willing seller, expect to spend almost $400.

8 BANJO-KAZOOIE: $400.00

Banjo-Kazooie was a solid game with spectacular colors and an interesting in-depth storyline. However, it came out towards the end of the Nintendo 64’s life cycle, so not many gamers paid it much attention. When they eventually did, the game was no longer available in retail stores. So, its value ballooned, and it has remained high ever since.

For collectors currently looking for the game, the lowest they can expect to pay for it is $400. But it will be well worth it since this is one of the most underrated games on the Nintendo 64.

7 DIDDY KONG RACING: $406.00

Diddy Kong Racing was one of the most groundbreaking games to be released on the Nintendo 64. It is a kart racing game that mixed a number of racing styles with components of an adventure game. The result was a unique and fun game with an experience you couldn’t find elsewhere.

The game has only grown in popularity since then, especially after it was re-released on the Nintendo DS a few years later. Thanks to this demand, the original Nintendo 64 version of the game has become rather valuable. Its value currently stands at $406.

6 GOLDENEYE 007: $664.00

GoldenEye 007 is one of the best-reviewed games on the Nintendo 64, receiving critical acclaim from almost every reviewer. It won a ton of awards, and it’s considered one of the most important games in the First-Person Shooter genre. The game also sold over 8 million copies, making it the third-best-selling Nintendo 64 game.

Despite selling so many copies, it seems most collectors are hesitant to sell their cartridges, even after all these years. For players who want to get their hands on a cartridge of GoldenEye 007 that’s still in mint condition, they might have to spend over $660.

5 BANJO-TOOIE: $699.00

Banjo-Tooie is one of the most fun platformers on Nintendo 64, on the same level as other platformers like Donkey Kong Country and Glover. It is connected to Diddy Kong Racing—they are both in the same game universe—and just like the kart game, Banjo-Tooie is full of unique features that help it to stand out from other Nintendo 64 games. The game also has a great sense of humor and a nice sense of fun, which makes it a fun game to play even today.

Interested gamers can find a decent copy of Banjo-Tooie at around $700.

4 THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: OCARINA OF TIME $1.300.00

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time isn’t just one of the best games on the Nintendo 64; it’s also considered one of the best video games of all time. It’s high praise, but the game more than earns it. It has exceptional graphics—for the Nintendo 64—addictive gameplay, and one of the best storylines in a video game.

All of these have led to the game being one of the most expensive you can find today. To nab yourself a good copy, you might need to spend some big bucks.

3 THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: MAJORA'S MASK: $1,300.00

The Nintendo 64 stands out from other Nintendo consoles in that it had more than one revolutionary Zelda game. Other than The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, the console was also home to The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask, which was just as beautiful, enjoyable and in-depth. So, it’s no surprise that Majora’s Mask costs as much as Ocarina of Time. Good copies are hard to find, after all, and not many owners want to sell a piece of gaming history as valuable as this. But it’s well worth the price.

2 YOSHI'S STORY INTERNATIONAL VERSION: $1475.00

Yoshi’s Story is a remake of Yoshi’s Island, which was one of the best games on the SNES. And it was just as loved as the original. Not many copies of the game have survived till today. When you add this to the game’s popularity, it becomes quite valuable. And the International Version of Yoshi’s Story is even harder to find. It is worth nearly $1,500, and it will only grow more expensive—and rarer—with time. So, if you really have to get your hands on this gem, now is the best time, before the price skyrockets to upwards of $2,000

1 HARVEST MOON 64: $1,595.00

Harvest Moon is one of the most beloved video game franchises among fans, and with good reason. The games are often a pleasant and relaxing way to spend your time since your main focus is growing plants, going fishing, and sometimes raising animals. Even when introducing new elements, the game has largely remained true to this formula, which applies to Harvest Moon 64.

At the time, the game was starting to grow a following, but its popularity is nowhere near where it is now. Thanks to that, the game’s value has ballooned to a whopping $1,595.
