To celebrate the series' 20th anniversary, five classic Ratchet & Clank games are being added to PlayStation Plus Premium, alongside five free new skins for Rift Apart.

20 years ago, the first Ratchet & Clank debuted on the PS2, kickstarting two decades of bolt-collecting, names with crude puns, and a ton of awesome weapons. In celebration of that, Insomniac Games has shared a post on the PlayStation Blog that announces some plans to celebrate the series.

The biggest announcement to come from the blog post is that, from November 15, five classic Ratchet & Clank games are going to be added to PlayStation Plus Premium. They include Ratchet & Clank, Ratchet & Clank 2: Going Commando, Ratchet & Clank 3: Up Your Arsenal, Ratchet & Clank: Deadlocked, and, most surprisingly of all, Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction.

That means that all of the classic Ratchet & Clank games are now all going to be on the service. Before now, the only games that were included in PlayStation Plus Premium were games from the PS3 era onwards, including Quest for Booty, A Crack in Time, All 4 One, Full Frontal Assault, and Into the Nexus.

Although the five classic Ratchet & Clank games are the highlight of the anniversary celebrations so far, it's not all that's being offered. Insomniac also revealed that, later today, five new armour sets are being added for free to Rift Apart. The update should drop at some point later today.

The armour sets are all based on previous entries in the series, including the Holoflux armour from A Crack in Time, the Quest armour from Quest for Booty, the Marauder armour from Deadlocked, the Commando armour from Going Commando, and a unique skin that resembles Clank.

The PlayStation Blog also mentions that today is "kicking off" the celebrations, which means that there might be some more surprises in store in the future. Just a few months ago, Sucker Punch celebrated Sly's anniversary in much the same way, but it also had some unique merchandise added to PlayStation Direct.
