A Ratchet & Clank player has found Rift Apart's final easter egg, but it's not what the community had been hoping for.

Earlier in the week, PlayStation's official TikTok account teased that there was one final easter egg in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart that players had yet to find. The video showed several taxidermied enemies with plaques underneath and teased that it could be found within Zurkie's, leading many players to assume it was related to the Insomniac Museum, a staple of Ratchet games that was sadly missing from Rift Apart.

This instantly started a hunt for the final easter egg within the Ratchet & Clank community, one that has now been solved. As shared by Reddit user M1STER_GR1M on the Ratchet subreddit, the easter egg isn't actually a hint at the Insomniac Museum at all and instead is a secret message left by one of the developers.

If you translate the plaques using a robot language underneath the taxidermied heads that were shown in the video, you get the message "You Were Not Supposed To Decipher This Message". This was confirmed by PlayStation to be the final easter egg they had been teasing.

Although it's just a cute little easter egg that fans had missed, the hyping up of it on the TikTok account and the lack of a proper Insomniac Museum in Rift Apart led to many fans believing that the museum really was in the game and just hadn't been found. Reactions to the plaques have been mixed, with replies like, "hoped the undiscovered Easter egg would’ve had a little more pizzazz" and "Damn, so I just spent 20 minutes trying to get to the top of Zurkie's bar to find the hidden entrance to the museum".

This final easter egg has led many players to come to the conclusion that Zurkie's is intended to be the Insomniac Museum of Rift Apart, but that it's just not quite as on-the-nose as previous games. This makes a fair amount of sense when you consider how many easter eggs and references to older games can be found dotted around the bar, including a Dan Johnson action figure, an All 4 One arcade cabinet, and more.
