Insomniac has released more Rift Apart gameplay, this time showcasing the weapons players will have available to them in-game.

With less than a month to go until the release of Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, the hype for the sequel is really starting to ramp up. Insomniac has released even more gameplay this week, which you can check out below, showcasing the sequel's wide range of weapons. Some of them players of past Ratchet and Clank games will recognize, while others are brand new.

In what is a rather meta trailer for the game, Zurkon Jr. welcomes you to a Rift Apart launch party. He announces that today, Rift Apart's weapons and traversals will be the center of attention. It kicks off with the Rift Tether, a weapon that has been shown before and allows Ratchet to teleport from place to place.

A new weapon comes next, the Phantom Dash. As Zurkon Jr. explains in the video, the Phantom Dash allows Ratchet, and presumably Rivet too, to temporarily cease to exist to avoid an attack. That appears to be the weird effect that can be seen in other gameplay reveals where Ratchet splits into multiple versions of himself.

Both the Phantom Dash and the Rift Tether are rather defensive ways to approach the game, but there's plenty for those with an attacking mentality. Buzz Blades are back, and another new weapon named The Enforcer looks like it might be even more powerful than the 2016 game's Warmonger. Other weapons shown off in the trailer include the Lightning Rod, which fries your enemies, and the Cold Snap, which freezes them.

Last week was a big one for Rift Apart news. Insomniac revealed that much like Marvel's Spider-Man, Rift Apart's platinum trophy can be unlocked via just one playthrough. It also has a file size that won't have you frantically deleting games you actually want to keep hold of. Plus, thanks to it being a PS5 exclusive, Rift Apart will take full advantage of all the DualSense's features. Prepare yourself for all of that on what will be a busy weekend for PS5 owners in June. Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade hits the console 24 hours before Rift Apart.
