Razer, a world leader in high-performance gaming hardware, software and systems, will bring the global gaming community together for the first RazerCon, a full-day digital event set for October 10, which will be livestreamed on Twitch, Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter.
RazerCon attendees will be treated to a variety of events and activities, including concerts by metal artists Sabaton and Herman Li of DragonForce with special guests Tosin Abasi (Animals As Leaders) & Tim Henson (Polyphia), as well as top EDM bands. The event will also feature exclusive reveals of new Razer products and previews of upcoming games.
Other highlights include a global mixed reality keynote speech by Razer CEO Min-Liang Tan, the world’s first RGB lighting-reactive livestream, panels with Razer product managers, and exclusive content showcases from game studios like Romero Games, Perfect World Entertainment, Paradox Interactive, and Razer technology partners such as Intel, NVIDIA, and Western Digital.
Gaming celebrities will also be on hand. CloakZy and CourageJD will host an audience meet and greet session, and a RazerStreamer panel will feature PaladinAmber, among others. Viewers can interact on stream to take part in contests and giveaways of prizes such as a brand-new Razer Blade 15, Razer and partner hardware, and in-game items and beta keys from participating game studios.
“We have a very passionate and hardcore gaming community that has stuck with us for many years, and the idea of having a major gathering for Razer fans and all gamers out there was brought up countless times,” said Min-Liang Tan. “2020 has been a challenging year for everyone around the world, greatly limiting physical events. We see RazerCon as an opportunity to celebrate gaming and the Razer community while setting a new standard for online events.”
The livestreamed event will be powered by Razer Chroma RGB lighting, a proprietary RGB lighting technology system that includes 16.8 million colors to create countless animated lighting effects. The concerts will also feature sound enhanced by the audio engineering experts at THX Ltd.
As for upcoming game titles, attendees can preview Empire of Sin by Romero Games. The game’s highlights will be introduced by award-winning game designer Brenda Romero. Also, the event will offer a new look at the forthcoming dungeon crawler Torchlight III from Echtra Games and Perfect World Entertainment, as well as a sneak peek of the movie adaptation of Mutant Year Zero, directed by Hasraf ‘HaZ’ Dulull.
