Pokemon Unite launched roughly four months ago and, to no one's surprise, quickly became one of the most popular games of 2021. And, with its ever-expanding roster of Pokemon currently sitting at 26 monsters, we can only hope our favorites become available later on. Still, with such a large pool to pick from, those odds aren't what we'd consider great.

When Pokemon Unite got revealed, it was almost a given we'd see Farfetch'd in the game, especially with it finally receiving an evolution after 23 years of speculation and rumors. Unfortunately, Farfetch'd is thrown to the wayside yet again, which feels like such a wasted opportunity.

6 The Mighty Leek

Farfetch'd is one of the few Pokemon to wield a weapon, bludgeoning anyone who poses a threat. In the past, Farfetch'd's leek wasn't all that strong and didn't really boost Farfetch'd ahead of the competition, but it has since gotten much better and offers a greater chance at landing critical hits than pretty much any other item.

In Pokemon Sword and Shield, Farfetch'd is a crit-proc machine and can deal absurd amounts of damage in a relatively quick succession, which is a far cry from how things used to be. In Pokemon Unite, Farfetch'd would make an excellent Attacker, and there's no doubt about it.

5 Endearingly Basic

Perhaps not the strongest Pokemon out there, or even the most skilled, but what makes Farfetch'd such a unique, lovable Pokemon is just how basic it is. Without its leek, a Farfetch'd is quite literally a wild duck, with hardly anything to offer in terms of combat. But, that doesn't mean Farfetch'd isn't worthy of entering the fray.

Sure, Farfetch'd can't breathe fire, punch at the speed of sound, or do anything particularly outstanding. Still, it overcomes all of that by simply being ordinary and fighting tooth and nail to protect its precious leek. For what many believe to be a duck masquerading as a Pokemon, Farfetch'd stands its ground and doesn't flinch.

4 Mischievous To The Core

Another thing Farfetch'd is known for is how much of a troll it can often be. Whether that involves stealing Pokemon from Team Rocket, using its leek to bat a thrown Pokeball back at the trainer, or just being devious in general, Farfetch'd is a handful.

Farfetch'd is a scrappy and defiant Pokemon that would make an exceptional addition to the Pokemon Unite roster. The sheer amount of chaos Farfetch'd brings to the table for being such a small duck is awe-inspiring. Farfetch'd's clever, and calculated madness is what makes it such a lovable Pokemon.

3 Flying Or Fighting?

So, here it is, the question that must get asked anytime Farfetch'd gets mentioned, and that's which Farfetch'd would it be? Would it be the original Normal/Flying-type from the first generation of Pokemon? Or would it be the new Fighting-type Galarian Farfetch'd? This choice is challenging but ultimately has to be made, no matter the cost.

And, as much as we love the classic look of Farfetch'd, the Galarian version has so much better stats and can even evolve. While it is a bummer it loses its Flying trait, it makes up for it with raw brute strength and poses a threat. The old-school Farfetch'd will always be our favorite, but for something like Pokemon Unite, the new and improved Farfetch'd would wreck shop.

2 Enter Sirfetch'd

Ash's Sirfetch'd

Speaking of Galarian Farfetch'd, it is time to talk about Sirfetch'd, one of the best evolutions of all time. While it sure took a while for this to happen, we're glad it did and love its design and personality. Sirfetch'd has unreal stats and greater critical chance, making it a formidable foe for most Pokemon.

Having Farfetch'd evolve into Sirfetch'd in Pokemon Unite would have an excellent sense of progression, as your stats would receive a massive boost, and you would hit like a freight train. Furthermore, your defense would also get buffs quite substantially, allowing you to stay in the fight a bit longer.

1 The Community's Love For Farfetch'd

A happy Farfetch'd from the Pokemon Anime giving the peace sign.

Farfetch'd, the unremarkable, tiny, skilless Pokemon deserves to be in Pokemon Unite due to its determination to protect its leek, quirky personality and community support. Farfetch'd is loved by so many people in the community, and it isn't hard to see why. The overwhelmingly positive reaction to Sirfetch'd should be enough proof of how much people adore this peculiar duck, and we do too.

Even if Farfetch'd never received an evolution, we would still fight the good fight to have Farfetch'd enter the battlefield, leek in hand, ready to carry everyone to victory. But, fortunately, Sirfetch'd does exist and carries over everything we love Farfetch'd for, except it is much nobler and a much more significant threat. Put Farfetch'd in Pokemon Unite. It earned its spot.
