Momentum is seriously starting to gather as we inch ever closer to the end of Fortnite's season seven. It is now just three weeks until season eight, and you can expect a lot of key moments between now and then. The snow and ice brought about by the storm is quickly melting away, so what's next for Fortnite Island?
Well, as always, certain players have simply not been able to wait to find out what Epic has in store for us. Dataminers have delved into the v7.30 folders and found some pretty telling hints, all pointing towards one of the few disasters we haven't yet witnessed in Fortnite, an earthquake.
The first clue was by far the most obvious, a folder labeled "earthquake." Pretty telling right? What's more, the folder was alongside other events that have happened recently, including the Marshmello Festivus and the reintroduction of NFL-themed skins. If that isn't enough evidence for you, then take a listen to the audio files below, featuring some pretty telling noises that will likely soon be coming to Fortnite.
If you ask us, those noises sound like rocks falling, buildings crumbling, and basically anything else you would associate with an earthquake.
Last but not least, there is some code that seems to link to the tremors. According to Fortnite Intel, it looks like there will be 50 tremors in total, each one more powerful than the last. So brace yourselves, Fortnite fans. Things are about to get pretty unstable.
If there is indeed an earthquake coming to Fortnite Island, it seems like that will be the event that we see in the new season. If there are going to be 50 tremors in total, then that could easily take us all the way up until the end of season seven. Perhaps the 50th tremor will be the final thing to happen this season, and when the sun rises on season eight, the map will have been changed entirely.
