Red Dead Online's daily challenges have been updated to make references to Black Friday.
If there's one game out there that doesn't seem likely to make a reference to Black Friday, it's Red Dead Redemption. Jokes about the game's online portion not being updated very much aside, the fact that it's set in Western times means that it's a bit of a weird choice for daily challenges, but it's a nice detail nonetheless.
As pointed out by Redditor ETeezey1286 on the Red Dead Online subreddit, the daily challenges are all themed around Black Friday. One of the challenges has you taking a self-portrait, which is a clear reference to modern selfies, whilst the other six all have you visiting shops in different corners of the map, which is a nice nod to Black Friday and all the shopping that most tend to do.
Funnily enough, seeing as how all of the shops are in different areas of the map, this is actually quite a difficult set of daily challenges to complete, as players will have to travel across a decent amount of Red Dead Online. It beats having to catch a certain amount of fish, at least.
This isn't the first time that Red Dead Online has made some of its daily challenges a reference to real-world happenings, however. One Redditor, AlexAuditore, said, "My favorite was last year on leap day and the challenges were things like jump from one horse to another horse, jump from 3m onto your horse, do 10 vaults on your horse, and jump from a horse to a moving train." Other players have jokingly suggested more daily challenges for the event, such as trampling over other players or robbing them.
Other holidays have also had some challenges tied to them, such as Christmas-themed challenges asking players to cook seasoned birds. It'll be interesting to see what Red Dead tries to pull for Cyber Monday, but that might be a bit of a stretch.
