Hunting isn’t the only thing you’ll need to get good at if you want to bang out all of those Daily Challenges in Red Dead Online. You’ll need to fulfill the role of both hunter and gatherer, as herbs for various tonics are just as important as meat and pelts.

When it comes to foraging plants, you should always utilize the Eagle Eye ability to scope out the nearby flora. Sage is a common and wildly beneficial herb that grows across RDR2’s American West, and Hummingbird Sage is among the most widespread variants.

You can differentiate Hummingbird Sage from its cousins by identifying its angular stem topped with a stalk of tightly clustered purple petals. This variant grows across every region besides New Austin, though only at select locations within each state.

Lemoyne

  • Look carefully along Lemoyne’s northern border, southwest of Dewberry Creek, and you should spot a singular growth of Hummingbird Sage.
  • West of Southfield Flats, another stalk of Hummingbird Sage grows near the eastern shore of Flat Iron Lake along with some Ginseng and Indian Tobacco.

New Hanover

The sole location to find Hummingbird Sage throughout New Hanover is west of Van Hoorn Trading Post, near a patch of Chanterelles. If you’re also hunting beavers, you're like to pass through this location when setting out from the post en route to the notable Legendary Beaver spawn at the pool a little further west.

Ambardino

The growth of Hummingbird Sage is relatively condensed in Ambardino.

  • One harvest grows northeast of Donner Falls, right near the ‘I’ in Ambardino.
  • The other lies to the southeast of Donner Falls, about halfway to Baccus Station.

West Elizabeth

There are two known Hummingbird Sage plants in West Elizabeth, and they grow so close to one another they might as well be considered the same location.

  • Head southwest of Manzanita Outpost, where the first sprout of Hummingbird Sage should be growing just past one fork in the road and before another fork where three roads form a triangle.
  • You will find a second Hummingbird Sage plant sprouting up directly southwest of that location along the southern road leading from the triangle.
