Although Red Dead Online may have struggled upon release, Rockstar has been diligent in trying to make the game work, continually adding updates and improving mechanics. Some of the game's biggest improvements yet seem to be coming on September 10th, as the latest update looks to expand the game's roles system and give players a deeper experience than they would have found if they would have logged on in November of last year.

With this new update, Red Dead Online's three classes, the bounty hunter, the trader, and the collector, will serve more as quest-reward systems than paths that you must commit to, but that might not be a bad thing at all. Each role will supposedly give you new pursuits all of the time, and ensure that you always have something to do. Also, each role will have its own XP bar and will offer 20 separate ranks. Every five ranks, you'll be rewarded with a new title: Novice at rank 5, Promising at rank 10, Established at 15, and Distinguished at 20.

Each class will have a slew of unlockables throughout their perspective 20-level progressions. The bounty hunter class will allow you to unlock the ability to use dead eye while running or galloping on your horse, obtain an upgraded satchel and lasso, unlock a bounty wagon, and even allow you to channel your true inner cowboy with pistol spins and tricks, among other unlockables. You'll also be able to hunt down enemy players after reaching level 12 if they've obtained a high enough bounty.

The trader class gives you the opportunity to turn your camp into a business. You'll also be able to unlock a unique lance knife, a hunting wagon, and a weapons lock. What's most appealing about this class though, is the opportunity to unlock your very own dog to protect your camp and alert you when there are intruders nearby.

Finally, the collector class will give you the ability to sense where nearby collectibles are hidden so you can dig them up and build your fortune, obtain a special machete unique to the collector class, collect herbs from horseback, and even obtain a special lantern that can hang from your horse.

Rockstar's latest update will change even more than adding to their class system. Players have also been promised more responsive movement in combat, new ability cards, daily challenges, and more dynamic events. You will also be able to finally change the appearance of your character without resetting your progress, which is something that many have been hoping to see for some time now.

Despite early claims that Red Dead Online didn't have too much to offer, Rockstar hasn't given up on the platform, and the changes that it has made have been welcome ones. The latest update will be available on September 10th, and it will give players the opportunity to dive even deeper into the world of the wild west, and conquer everything that it has to offer.
