It took about a year, but Rockstar Games has finally announced when Red Dead Redemption 2 will be headed to PC. According to a release by Rockstar Games, the newest installment of Rockstar's wild west franchise will get released to the PC Gaming public on November 5, 2019.

 

While this may seem like a long delay, it's actually an improvement over how long gamers had to wait for the PC release of Rockstar's previous game, Grand Theft Auto 5. It took a year and a half for that game to make its way to PC.

Rockstar says that the PC release will include graphical and technical upgrades from its console versions, and will also feature new Bounty Hunting Missions, Gang Hideouts, Weapons. The PC game will also have free access to Red Dead Online– something that the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game require subscriptions to their online services to access.

Fans of the game can pre-purchase it from the Rockstar Games Launcher. starting on October 9. People who pre-purchase before October 22 will receive a bonus: they get their pick of two free Rockstar titles on PC, from the following list:

  • Grand Theft Auto III
  • Grand Theft Auto: Vice City
  • Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
  • Bully: Scholarship Edition
  • L.A. Noire: The Complete Edition
  • Max Payne 3: The Complete Edition

If you install the Rockstar Games Launcher by October 8, you will already will be able to get Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas for free, meaning you'll get three free games from Rockstar.

Those who pre-purchase using the Rockstar Games Launcher will also get free upgrades to the Premium Editions of Red Dead Redemption 2. On top of that, they will receive the following in-game bonuses:

  • Outlaw Survival Kit for Story Mode
  • War Horse for Story Mode
  • Treasure Map for Story Mode
  • Cash Bonus for Story Mode
  • 50 Gold Bars for Red Dead Online

Alongside the announcement of the PC release, Google Stadia has announced that its streaming platform will feature Red Dead Redemption 2. Whether this means Google Stadia will release on November 5 is currently unknown.
