Redfall is a simple game, and truth be told, there was only one thing that intriguing about it. Yep, it was the world that Arkane Studios were designing. A seaside town, overtaken by Vampires, cultists and private military armies — what’s not to be intrigued about? Well, the world wasn’t exactly as we expected, but there is good side content here that might take you by surprise.

There are a variety of side quests that you can do in Redfall, and they can range from your run-of-the-mill fetch quests to some very intricate storylines. Throughout the playthrough, you'll into some interesting ones. Here are the best side quests that Redfall has to offer!

8 The Eclipse

Redfall: The Eclipse Quest

The Eclipse is an odd quest. It has less story than some side quests, but more fun to be had than others. You can find it by heading to the garage south of the Maritime Center. It’s locked, so you will need a key from within the house, or a Rewire Kit to unlock it. This quest offers minimal story, focusing on world building. You are instructed to go through different places, until you are ambushed by some tough vampires.

Of course, just like every fight in Redfall, the battle with the Aspect of the Eclipse is not going to be challenging. All you need is a Medusa, or perhaps a box to cover behind, and you can attack with relative safety. The comrades that accompany her may pose more of a challenge though, which can be quite a thrill.

7 The Red Candle

Redfall: The Red Candle Quest

The Red Candle is an ominous quest that requires you to find and use a mysterious candle to lure out a powerful vampire named The Voice in the Trees. This is a unique quest, featuring a lot of world building and lore.

You start this quest in the Briefing Room by reading the note titled Stay Away From the Orchard. The quest will then take you through many different phases, where you must find and then use the candle to lure out the sneaky Vampire. The fight with The Voice in the Trees is relatively easy, and you’ll be able to quickly eliminate him without much trouble. The reward is a standard 800 XP, and you can loot the remains of the Vampire once you’re done.

6 Dr Young’s Projects

Redfall: Dr Young's Projects Quest

Dr. Young’s Projects is one of the lengthiest side quests in Redfall, making you trek across different locations and take out different targets. After a couple of main missions and completing Birdwatchers, you can talk to Nurse Tran to begin Dr. Young’s Projects. You will be diving into the history of Tran’s former employer, and their... experimentation.

After a brief tour of Dr. Young’s office, you’ll need to eliminate three targets named Royce Ellery, Thomas Sands, and Matthias Bollinger. Of course, the final target will be dead when you arrive there, leaving you a key and a new opportunity for some good looting. There’s the standard 800 XP reward, along with more side quests unlocking.

5 The Abducted Brother

Redfall: The Abducted Brother Quest

When Joe’s brother goes missing, it’s up to you to find him... because Joe can’t. The Abducted Brother side quest becomes available after you finish the Giving You Tomorrow main quest — head to Joe and speak with him to receive it. The quest takes you to Sedgewick, towards a new marker on the map.

This quest offers a good bit of exploration, combat, and even some decent puzzle-solving. Not to mention, this is one of the few side quests where you can actually have fun. You can also try unique gameplay styles, for example, as Jacob, you can avoid the cultists altogether by cloaking and sneaking away. Aside from the standard 800 XP, this quest also rewards you with an achievement and a Four-Alarm Fighters Backpack, which is a pretty good deal as far as side quests in Redfall go.

4 Carpe Noctem

Redfall: Carpe Noctem Quest

Carpe Noctem is your glorious introduction to Redfall’s side quests, and it is by far one of the most well-designed side quests that the game has to offer. It provides you with the opportunity to explore the game's world, learn how to restore safehouses, and even take on a Vampire Underboss.

The quest will find you itself through a call from Eva, who will give you all the details. After that, there’s a lot of fun to be had having gun fights with cultists and vampires alike, as well as parkouring until you turn on the generator and restore the safehouse. Then, you can take on the Vampire Underboss named Weeping Tammy, to finally finish the quest and reap thy reward of 800 XP.

3 Whisky And Cigars

Redfall: Whiskey And Cigars Quest

Whiskey and Cigars is an interesting side mission that adds a touch of realism to the game, along with fleshing out our very own Reverend Eva. It's a simple mission, a good old fashioned fetch quest but one that has a lot of story implications. Reverend Eva is suffering from a stellar case of withdrawal, and she needs her vices back.

So, all you’ve got to do is go to Eva's apartment, grab the whiskey and cigars, and bring them back to the firehouse. This quest adds depth to Eva’s character, introducing us to her vices and coping mechanisms in this terrifying post-apocalyptic world. There are no over the top action sequences, nothing complicated, just a simple fetch quest about a girl getting back into her drinking groove.

2 Taking Back The Airwaves

Redfall: Taking Back The Air Waves Quest

Another side quest involving Reverend Eva, this quest is unlocked once you find Reverend Eva’s Safehouse letter in the Heritage Rock safehouse. The quest has you recover Bill’s Vampire Survival Tips recording, and then broadcast it onto the air.

You’ve got to head to Bill’s House, pick the lock and enter, find the recording before heading to Dead Catch Records in Basswood. There, you head into the building, avoiding or joining the Vampires Vs Bellwether fight that’s going on to find the Studio Key. Once that has been acquired, simply play the recording on the waves for everyone to hear. There is a lot of fun to be had in this quest: you must look for things on your own, you have the choice to drop into combat, and it’s just all very Arkane.

1 Intermission Snack

Redfall: Intermission Snack Quest

Intermission Snack provides a simple yet highly entertaining task for you to complete. The fact that you’re literally going to be fixing a popcorn machine, instead of battling hordes of Vampires and evil cultists, is refreshing in a game like this. Also, the reward for this quest is not only the usual XP points, but also a Four-Alarm Fighters Helmet, which is always a welcome gift.

Once you complete the main quest titled Two Birds One Stone, you can read a sticky note on the popcorn machine in the firehouse basement that will start the quest. You also get a lot of action in this quest when you reach the Overtone Theater. You get to fight a Lumiere Vampire, along with finding collectibles known as Grave Locks, which is just the icing on the cake. After you’re done doing the tiring work of a hero, you get some much-needed popcorn love once you complete the quest.
