The Stage Builder mode in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was originally released to much fanfare and quickly became an avenue for players to create levels based on popular memes, along with attempts to sneak phallic imagery into a Nintendo game. The popularity of the Stage Builder mode has diminished, but there are still some fans who put a lot of effort into their stages.

One stage in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate that has been praised by the fanbase (via Event Hubs) is called "Iwata & Reggie" and shows the two beloved former Nintendo executives based on their poses from the 2014 Nintendo E3 Digital Event (with their frowns turned into smiles), where they were shown fighting as if they were video game characters. The fight was created as part of the reveal trailer for the introduction of Mii Fighters into Super Smash Bros. 3DS/Wii U.

The stage shows detailed pictures of both Satoru Iwata and Reggie Fils-Aimé, with the platform in-between them. The stage has even drawn praise from Reggie himself on Twitter. The fact that Reggie is now retired means that he has a lot more time to engage with his fans on social media, as he didn't even create a Twitter account until after he had left his position at Nintendo.

There was a period of time when both Iwata and Reggie were considered to be the faces of Nintendo in regards to the corporate staff, with the successful days of the Nintendo DS and Nintendo Wii partly attributed to their influence within the company. Iwata passed away in 2015 and Reggie retired from his position in 2019, which means that their era of Nintendo has ended.

Nintendo is currently seeing huge success with the Nintendo Switch and the people who are currently in Iwata and Reggie's former positions (Shuntaro Furukawa and Doug Bowser) have been doing a fine job so far if the reaction to E3 2019 is anything to go on. The days of Iwata and Reggie at Nintendo are over, but the fans will still remember their time with the company and their contributions to the history of gaming.

The stage can be found by searching for "Iwata & Reggie" in the Shared Content tab in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
