One of the most unique aspects of Remnant: From The Ashes, the amazing Souls-like with guns experience from Gunfire Games, is the Random Events. As you travel from Earth to Rhom, to Corsus, and so on, each area will pull from a list of many different potential “events” you can run into, some incredibly hard (based on the Realm), while others are just incredibly interesting.

There’s a ton of them, and each one offers a different reward and/or tells a different story. So, let’s take a look at the best ones, both narratively and in terms of what you'll gain from them.

10 Earth: Brabus & Mudtooth

Remnant From The Ashes: The Cutscene That Introduces Brabus

Naturally, we’ll be following the same Realm progression that the game itself follows, so Earth is up first. Technically, Brabus is a World Boss, but, the spawning of his father, Mud Tooth, the mercenaries in the sewers, and the potential ways the Brabus fight can go, make this feel much more like a Random Event.

If you manage to get both Brabus and Mud Tooth in your run, you'll get the Pocket Watch item, a nice NPC shop, and one of the three potential rewards Brabus offers.

9 Rhom: The Clean Room

Remnant From The Ashes: Getting Scanned In The Clean Room Random Event

The Clean Room event is one of the most inventive of all the Random Events, as it forces you to play the game a different way.

Essentially, it starts with you walking into a chamber, where you’re scanned and inflicted with the “Citadel’s Curse” which slowly siphons away your health. The only way to stop this siphoning is to make it to the end of the dungeon. However, if you just run straight there, you'll almost assuredly die. So, along the way, you'll have to kill enemies (which will heal you), use healing items, and essentially speedrun the area in the hopes of making it to the end in time.

8 Corsus: The Fetid Pools

Remnant From The Ashes: A Close-Up Look At The Fetid Pools

A ton of random events (and the Survival Mode) were added to the Corsus Realm with the Swamps of Corsus DLC, and the Fetid Pools was one of them.

Essentially, your goal while in the Fetid Pools area is to find the Rusted Amulet somewhere in the dungeon. Then, after finding it, you must crouch in one of the Fetid Pools until it becomes the Acid Cleaned Key (though this does remove its current equippable effects). This key is then used to open one of the five doors found at the end of the dungeon.

Each door leads to something different, meaning you should either do this event with a full party of people (which is a good way of surviving in general), since they'll all get their own key to use, or you should try and find it multiple times.

7 Yaesha: The Flautist

Remnant From The Ashes: Getting The Reward From The Flautist In Yaesha

The Flautist is an NPC that spawns in this closed-off room in Yaesha that has a gigantic Pan statue. while hanging out on this statue, he’ll play a specific tune on his double Vuvuzela-looking flute over and over again.

If you manage to recreate the song he’s playing using the bells hanging from the statue, he’ll grant you the Heart of the Wolf, which is a pretty useful ring. And, if you happen to know the Song of the Guardian, playing that on the bells will get you the Swiftness Trait as well.

6 Reisum: The Magir Test

Remnant From The Ashes: An Example Of What The Statues In The Magir Test Look Like

The final Realm of Remnant, Reisum, added in the Subject 2923 DLC, is a lot of fun. Reisum has a ton of different events, but the Magir Test is likely the most interesting.

This event is all about ready a certain story on the wall about some figure named "Hakun Magir", and his battle against "Lord Drak". Some of the details in the story will differ from person to person, namely what injuries Magir suffered (if any), whether he was holding a skull or not, and whether he was wearing a crown or not. Then, you’re supposed to look at the 8 statues of Magir, all of which differ slightly in appearance, and pick the one that matches his description from the story.

5 Earth: Leto’s Lab

Remnant From The Ashes: Sending A Co-Op Friend Into The Teleporter In Leto's Lab

Cycling all the way back around to Earth, it’s time to talk about Leto’s Lab. Basically, you explore this Research Station, killing any Root or Splitters you find, until you stumble upon a “teleporter”.

Interacting with the computer in the room lets you apply "Leto’s Algorithm" to the teleporter as well. With the Algorithm on, you’ll teleport behind the locked doors, granting you the ability to continue forward and make your way to Riphide. But, if you keep trying to teleport with the Algorithm off, you’ll pop up in a bunch of different locations throughout the Research Staton.

Keep trying until you end up in the room that seems very "different" as this is the one with Leto's Armor, the heaviest set of armor in the game.

4 Rhom: The Monolith Floor Puzzle

Remnant From The Ashes: What The Metallic Platform And Puzzle Tiles Look Like

Another random event for Rhom is up next, the Monolith Floor puzzle. In the center of the area outside this locked tower should be a metallic platform and stone tiles of equal size all around it. Turns out, all of these stone tiles are pressure plates, and you've got to figure out the pattern.

The first one is always one of the ones surrounding the metal platform, but the rest of the pattern is just trial and error. If you manage to figure out the right path/combination of tiles in a row, the middle metallic one descends like an elevator and leads you around to an interactable where you can obtain the Void Armor Set. But, be careful, as pressing the wrong tile at any point can summon some tough enemies, so don't get blindsided.

3 Corsus: The Brain Bug

Remnant From The Ashes: A Close-Up Look At Mar'Gosh The Brain Bug

Jumping back into the swamps, the next Random Event takes place in Corsus and was an event/boss fight (like Cessnya) that was also added in the DLC. Any fans of the iconic satirical war movie, Starship Troopers, are likely excited to see another Brain Bug. This Brain Bug goes by the name of Mar’Gosh, and it will only talk to you if you have the Parasite Status Ailment that’s gained from letting one of those disgusting Iskal Infectors grab you. If you do have Parasite, he’ll sell you the entirety of the Carapace Armor, making him one of the best Merchants in the game.

But, if you aren’t infected with Parasite, Mar’Gosh instantly starts "attacking" and by that, we mean trying to escape while summoning enemies to fight you. Kill him this way, and you get the Gift of the Iskal, an amazing Ring for those who rely on their Weapon Mods.

2 Yaesha: The Ravager Shrine

Remnant From The Ashes: Running Towards The Ravager Shrine Door In Co-Op

Normally, we wouldn’t put any of the “hold the line” Random Events on here, even though there's a couple of them. Why? Mostly because they’re sort of boring and unimaginative.

In comparison to an amazing event like Leto’s Lab, telling you to kill waves of enemies while a door slowly opens isn’t nearly as exciting. But, for some reason, The Ravager Shrine, Yaesha’s variation of this event, works pretty well. The choice of Pan enemies they used are pretty mobile, there are multiple levels to the arena, and it's a decent challenge. Plus, the reward from this event is the Elder Set, which is a fan favorite.

1 Reisum: Creepers Peepers

Remnant From The Ashes: Getting The Creepers Peepers Eye From The Urikki

Basically, there are two things you need for this last one; a Statue somewhere in your Reisum of a little rat warrior missing an eye, and the Watcher’s Hollow location. If you have both, you can clear Creeper's Peepers.

Clear Watcher's Hollow out, open the cage at the beginning of this area and take a close look at all of the rats. Whichever one has a single bright green eye, that's the one you sadly have to kill. Then, take that eye back to the statue, pop it in there, and head inside the area that it opens to get the Twin Shot pistol.

An extra tip - It’s actually important that you only kill the correct rat and no others since doing so will net you the Swashbuckler’s Signet as well.
