There's almost nothing the PC community cannot accomplish. Whether it's going through a game's data and data mining interesting information, resources, and assets, or creating something completely new from scratch and implementing it into the game, the PC community can always get the job done.

Modders can put anything they pretty much want into their favorite game, thus changing it in such a way that a whole new experience will be created as a result. Such happens to be the latest case with Resident Evil 2. A Nexus modder was able to add the main characters from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and replace Leon and Claire with Geralt and Ciri respectively.

Considering the events of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, the two mods are almost perfect for one another in a sense that they replicate the same scenario in Resident Evil 2. Since Geralt tries to reunite with Ciri in the actual game, a similar situation can be applied in Resident Evil 2. As such, fans of both games are certain to appreciate the mods and give them a try.

The Geralt mod keeps Geralt's swords on his back, but unfortunately the swords cannot be used. Those who wish to give the mod a try can try to improvise by using a knife, which is most likely going to create a challenging playthrough (depending on the difficulty setting). As for the Ciri mod, it replaces the combat knives with Ciri’s sword, Zireael, ultimately creating a truer sense of immersion despite taking place in a completely different game.

The two mods aren't the only ones made for Resident Evil 2. Over the months, the modding community was able to add a bunch of different mods like CJ and Big Smoke, Shaggy, Thomas the Tank Engine, and a lot more. As a result, it's safe to say that more and more characters will be added in as mods over time. Additionally, with the Resident Evil 3 to come out soon, it's fair to assume that modders are already planning to mod in various characters from pop culture into that game as well.
