Jill's nightmare in Raccoon City isn't over yet, as a Resident Evil 3 board game is coming to Kickstarter soon, courtesy of Steamforged Games.

Steamforged Games is a board/card game developer that has created a number of tabletop games based on video game properties, including Dark Souls. The company has already released a board game based on Resident Evil 2, which was made before the remake. Resident Evil 2: The Board Game was praised for capturing the feeling of the original game.

Raccoon City could soon become the subject of another tabletop game, as Steamforged Games has announced that it's launching a Kickstarter for Resident Evil 3: The Board Game. According to the official Steamforged Games website, it's possible to play smaller one-off sessions or a continuous 19+ hour-long campaign in the game, so it's roughly three times as long as the Resident Evil 3 video game.

Resident Evil 3: The Board Game will have four playable characters, including Jill Valentine and Carlos Oliveira, as they attempt to escape from the zombie hordes that have taken over Raccoon City. The player will need to manage their resources and prepare for surprise encounters, as Nemesis stalks them at every turn. If the Kickstarter campaign reaches 2500 followers, then a Kickstarter exclusive figure of Jill wearing biker gear will become available. The amount of funding that the Kickstarter campaign will need to meet its goals is currently unknown.

The remakes of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 offered a glimpse at the state of Raccoon City when it fell to the zombie hordes, yet the player can only spend a short amount of time in the city. The board games give players the chance to expand upon the setting and experience the survival horror nightmare for extended play sessions with their friends. Jill's nightmare might have ended when she escaped from Raccoon City, but fans can keep it going for as long as they want, assuming the Kickstarter meets its funding goals.
