It seems that the Resident Evil 4 Remake rumor mill hasn't yet stopped, with the latest one suggesting that the potential game will be "greatly expanded" and play differently from the original version.

The source of the current rumors is yet again Dusk Golem. If the name sounds familiar by now, that is because Dusk Golem is the same person who accurately predicted Resident Evil Village before it was even announced, as well as other rumors like the game's graphics being too ambitious for current-generation consoles. In regards to the current rumors, Dusk Golem states that Resident Evil 4 Remake's development team is aiming at expanding the story further by evolving elements that were first introduced in the original game. Although the leaker didn't go into too many details, it can be assumed that the main story of the game will be expanded to add whole new gameplay elements, while tweaking those that are already present in order to make the game more modern.

Additionally, Dusk Golem explained how the remake will play. Based on what he said, the remake won't necessarily play like the original. Since Resident Evil 4 drastically changed the Resident Evil series by being more action-packed and playing differently overall, making the remake play just like the original or like Resident Evil 2 Remake or Resident Evil 3 Remake will prevent it from achieving what the original version initially accomplished. Due to that, and if Dusk Golem is to be trusted, it will be interesting to see how "different" Resident Evil 4 Remake will be once (and if) it releases.

When Resident Evil 3 Remake released, some fans of the original game did not appreciate the remake because it cut out a lot of content and it didn't feel like the same game. In their minds, the remake "butchered" the essence of the original version, thus making the remake feel and play like a totally different game. If Resident Evil 4 Remake will make major changes, the hope is that the game resonates well with the fans, especially with those who played and fell in love with the original. Otherwise, the game might be just like Resident Evil 3 Remake.
