Resident Evil 4 has been released on everything, that much is known. Whether your platform of choice is Nintendo Switch or an old Nokia, it's possible to pick up and play this iconic horror title wherever you are. You would be forgiven, therefore, for believing that Resident Evil 4 can be comfortably played by anyone. Well, unfortunately, if you're picking up the game for the first time with its VR release, you might be out of luck.

As discovered by some players, Resident Evil 4 can be a really painful experience for anyone with boobs. That's right - fans are reporting that they are accidentally whacking themselves in the chest mid-fight in a desperate attempt to reach for an item, which as anyone with boobs will tell you, is going to really, really bloody hurt.

"So I was playing re4 and I found myself in a bit of a dilemma. Every time I reached for a grenade or my knife in a panic I would find myself with a new unfortunate bruise on my tits", explained a Reddit user in r/OculusQuest. "It had me thinking if we are going to continue place items on the chest in vr there might need to be a body size/type choice in the future…cause ow…"

For anyone suffering through these accidental tit-punches, don't worry, there is a workaround. There's a quick access setting that allows you to select items with buttons, rather than having to physically reach for them. But if you're insistent on keeping that VR immersion, you should still be able to reach for the item by aiming above the boob instead - in an enemy-induced panic, it will probably sting a little less if you accidentally punch that area. That might not be consistent, however, as another player in the replies says they still needed to go for the chest to get their knife.

On the bright side, the game has got a little more respectful towards anatomies in other ways. The creepy dialogue concerning Ashley Graham's body has been removed from the game, as well as the ability to look up her skirt.

Resident Evil 4 VR is out now, having launched October 21.
