Horror fans rejoice - Resident Evil 4 is here, again. What's so different about it this time? Now you can experience the spine-tingling horror game in VR, exclusively on the Oculus Quest 2. This latest iteration of the joint most re-released game ever - tied with Skyrim, obviously - will launch on October 21 and is more than just a straight-up VR port.

Resident Evil 4 modernised the survival horror series when it first launched back in 2005. It featured smoother controls, more action, and removed the fixed camera of the previous installments. The VR version of Capcom's legendary game is set to be the biggest overhaul of the game yet. Much of the game has been remade to be more suitable to the new virtual first-person perspective.

All items will be available on your person - healing items will be accessible by reaching over your left shoulder, ammo will be stored in a bag on your left hip, a knife can be found on your front, and weapons can be pulled out of a holster on your right leg. You'll also reload in real-time now, making those hordes of enemies been harder to kill as you have to battle against your own shaking hands just to load a fresh clip.

These changes seem to make the game harder, according to an IGN preview. Dealing with large mobs of enemies and having to juggle weapons, healing items, grenades, and movement at the same time can be tense and a little overwhelming, especially for people who get motion sick in VR and tend to use teleportation movement.

Although most of the game is played in a first-person perspective now, some actions such as jumping through windows or climbing up ladders will transition you to a third-person view. Also, all cutscenes will be viewed on a virtual theatre screen, adding a nice touch of immersion without the need to completely remake all the iconic cutscenes from the ground up.

Also, you save on a fully interactive typewriter, which is pretty neat.
