Resident Evil 5 & 6 Will Be Coming To Nintendo Switch In Time For Halloween

Capcom is continuing its spree of Resident Evil ports for the Nintendo Switch with Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6. It has now been revealed that both games will be released on October 29, which is just in time for Halloween.

Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6 are survival horror games with a greater focus on co-op gameplay than earlier games in the series. Resident Evil 5 involved Chris Redfield battling new Bio-Organic Weapons in Africa alongside a new character named Sheva Alomar, while Resident Evil 6 used a cast of different playable characters set in different locations, including Leon S. Kennedy and Ada Wong.

The Nintendo Switch ports of Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6 will include all of their DLC from the other versions of the game, including the scenario in which Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine explore a dangerous mansion in Resident Evil 5.

Capcom has also mentioned that Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil 5, and Resident Evil 6 will be available together as part of the Resident Evil Triple Pack. However, the cartridge only carries Resident Evil 4, with digital download codes being given for the other two titles.

Some may say, however, that neither title is worth $29.99 in 2019, when both are available for less on other platforms and have been for years. Some would also argue that Resident Evil 6 wasn't even worth $29.99 on the day that it was first released. Many fans thought that Capcom made a mistake when it released Resident Evil, Resident Evil 0, and Resident Evil 4 for $29.99, and will likely be displeased that they are doing the same thing again with their latest Nintendo Switch ports.

The vast majority of the Resident Evil titles are now available on the Nintendo Switch, as Resident Evil 7: Biohazard is available as a streaming game in Japan. The question now is whether Capcom will attempt to port the Resident Evil 2 remake to the Nintendo Switch in the future, or if a potential remake of Resident Evil 3 would also make its way to the system?

Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6 will be available for the Nintendo Switch on October 29, 2019.
